Gladis Rachel Tate, age 72, of Harrison, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at her residence, with her loving family by her side. She was born March 1, 1949, in Forty Four, Arkansas, to Hermon and Edith Maye (Blankenship) Morehead. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother-in-law, Jeff Mitchell.
Gladis was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed crochet work, sewing, and was a former Izard County 4-H member and Redbud EHC Club member. She worked in a shirt factory in Izard County; was a flower designer at Country Palace Gift Shop; and a home health aide for over 25 years. She loved going to rodeos and hunting any local game. She also enjoyed searching for rocks and arrowheads. She was a cake decorator and always made chocolate chip cookies for her grandkids. She would slam on her brakes if she saw a yard sale that she didn't know about and rarely missed an auction. Her family was her world and kept her going every day.
Gladis is survived by her daughter, Rachel Hickman, of Harrison; six grandchildren and their spouses, Cody and Matt Shreve of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Brittney and Jacob Creamer of Harrison, Stephanie Shreve, and her fiance', Albert Munyon, of Harrison, Emma Shreve of Harrison, Micah Hickman, Jr. of Harrison, and Avary Hickman of Harrison.
She is also survived by three great-grandchildren, Karson Creamer, Baylee Creamer, and Albert Munyon, VI, all of Harrison; two brothers, Willis (Nelda) Morehead of Forty-Four and Herley Morehead of Melbourne; her sister, Vivian Mitchell, of Melbourne; her significant other, Ron Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was Friday, May 21, 2021, at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home, 1008 Main Street, Melbourne, AR 72556.
The funeral service was Saturday, May 22, 2021, at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home in Melbourne, with Donald Cross and Leon Morehead officiating.
Interment was in Combs Cemetery in Melbourne, Arkansas.
Pallbearers were Cody Shreve, Matt Shreve, Jacob Creamer, Albert Munyon, Eric Morehead, Kevin Tate, and Donnie Tate.
Honorary Pallbearers were Ron Johnson, Wills Morehead, Herley Morehead, and the Arkansas Hospice of Berryville.

My condolences at the passing of Gladis. She was a friend and a help to me for several years. I particularly admired her for her untiring concerns for her next two generations. She was a good person, and shall certainly be missed.

I am so sorry to hear this about Gladys.She was a sweet and kind lady.She worked for my mom when she was in Home Health and was like a daughter to her as a matter of fact my mother called Gladys her third daughter. Prayers for the family to get through this very sad time. God Bless
