James (Jim) C. Weller, 82, of Conway, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord May 6, 2021. He was born August 23, 1938, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, to Jack and Norma Weller. Jim was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Neal Weller; his brother, Sonny Weller, and his parents.
Jim was a devout Christian. He loved his family, his dogs, woodcarving, sculpting and hiking. He retired from UCA as a Business Professor.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Myssy Hartley and D.J. Ripley (Roger); grandchildren, Shawn Hartley (Wan), Curtis Ripley (Kerri), Grey Hartley (Brick) and Stuart Ripley; great-grandchildren, Deacon Ripley, Arden Ripley, Octavian Hartley, Anisten Ripley and Julian Hartley, and other relatives and friends.
Services will be private. Donations may be made in his name to either Arkansas Hospice River Valley in Russellville or Arkansas Hospice office in Conway. They may also be made to Alzheimer's Foundation of America or The Salvation Army.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the superior and compassionate care given to Jim and the support shown to them by Arkansas Hospice.

Just finding that Jim has passed.
He was a truly honest, sincere and honorable man. His decency, sense of humor and love of the natural world were unparalleled. I am very sad for his family whom he loved beyond measure. I still have an angel he carved for me many, many years ago and will forever cherish it.
May he rest in eternal peace, no one deserves it more.

Jim was a colleague of mine at UCA and, along with the other faculty that knew him here, will miss him greatly. We have been chatting about the old times with him. As a junior faculty member when I came here nineteen years ago (we were in the same department), he mentored me and taught me a lot of things. We all had (and still have) great respect for Jim, he was a wonderful colleague. Several of us even played poker together back in the early years and really enjoyed the fellowship and camaraderie surrounding that. Prayers to Myssy and all the rest of the family. Know that he is loved, respected, and missed here at UCA.

Jimmy was a grade school and high school classmate of mine in Kilgore TX, and a good, and dear, friend. Everyone loved and admired Jimmy so much. I am so sorry that I have not seen and visited with him for a number of years. We have, mostly, annual class of 1956 high school reunions, but unfortunately Jimmy has not attended in quite a few years, or not often. He had that perfect, and welcoming, smile that just invited you into his life. Everyone was his friend. I send my love and warmest thoughts to Jim's daughters, Myssy Hartley and D.J. Ripley, and to all of the family, and pray for you as you grieve your huge loss of this great man. He will be long remembered by all who knew him, and I am confident that he left his mark, his touch, in many, many, places for all future generations to see, and feel. May God bless you, and abide in your hearts.

i had him for a teacher at UAM IN 74-75. He was tough and expected you to earn the grade you received and not just given an easy grade you did not deserve. We talked about this some years later. I always respected him for that. Too bad more people in education not like him. RIP Jim
