Carl Malcolm Bear

of Harrison, AR

December 16, 1944 - May 2, 2021

Carl Malcolm Bear, age 76, of Harrison, was carried by angels peacefully to his heavenly home on Sunday, May 2, 2021. He was born on December 16, 1944, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Omar Christian and May Louise (Walter) Bear. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Charles, Donald, Omar, William, and James.

Carl, a natural-born mechanic by trade, was at his happiest fixing things for everyone. He was a member of Eagle Heights Baptist Church. He was a Christmas light master, co-founder of the EHBC Car Care Clinic for widows and senior adults, a world traveler, an avid bowler, NASCAR enthusiast, and reformed Hoosier rooting for the Razorbacks. His greatest joy was sharing these moments with his loving wife of 35 years. Carl gave happiness to all that were fortunate to receive the benefit of his servant's heart.

Carl is survived by his wife, Beverly Pitts Bear, of the home; his daughter, Veronnica Hood, of Indianapolis, Indiana; his son, Greg Kirkpatrick, of North Little Rock; his sister, Mildred Ginn (Raymond); his brother, Robert Bear, Sr. (Paula); three grandsons, Captain Joshua Hood, Zackary Hood, and Andrew Garrett Kirkpatrick; and great-grandson, Zyler Hood.

Visitation was 10-11 a.m. Friday, May 7, at Eagle Heights Baptist Church in Harrison.

The funeral service was 11 a.m. Friday, May 7, at Eagle Heights Baptist Church, with Dan Esau, Kennith Stacy, Jay Scribner, and Glenn Crenshaw officiating. Interment followed at Maplewood Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Josh Hood, Zack Hood, Garrett Kirkpatrick, Mike Ragland, David Raney, and Jackie Davis.

Honorary pallbearers were the EHBC Mexico mission brothers in Christ, Harrison Schools bus garage, and the ''lights guys.''

Beverly, we regret to hear about Carl's passing. He was a great man & a good friend. I'm sure the Lord has him checking out all the chariots to make sure they are operating properly. I didn't realize we were so close in age. I'm 4 months his elder. I look forward to meeting him in the future when the Lord calls me home. Our prayers are that the will give you comfort & help fill the void he has left.

I’m so sorry for your loss. Carl was a great man, giving to so many. I’ll never forget him helping me with that pile of wood in the back yard when I first lost Marvin. I’m so glad that because we know Jesus, you will be with your sweet husband again. I’m sorry I couldn’t be there. Love, hugs, and prayers,
