Jerry Levon Porterfield Sr., born September 10, 1959, passed April 28, 2021, Jerry was born in Turrell, Arkansas to Marshall and Mary Porterfield. Following a short battle with Stage 4 cancer, Jerry passed away peacefully at home. Jerry was 61. Jerry was a retired welder and Union Boilermaker of Local 263, Memphis, Tennessee.
Jerry was preceded in death by two brothers, Wilton and Don Porterfield and one sister, Charlotte Yount. Jerry leaves behind his wife of twelve years, Jeanne of Sale Creek, Tennessee, his brother Nathaniel Porterfield (Betty) of Turrell, Arkansas, two sons, Jerry Levon Porterfield Jr. (Vickie) of Tyronza, Arkansas and William Porterfield of Pontotoc, Mississippi, his step daughter Brittany Hardy (Zach) of South Pittsburg, Tennessee, his step son Steven Shipley of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee, his mother in law Sue Taylor of Dayton, Tennessee and sister in law Heather Malcom (Jimmy) of Knoxville, Tennessee, two grandsons, Damian and Blake Porterfield, his special friend Cody Ankeny of Birchwood, Tennessee and a host of former co-workers and friends across the United States will miss him.
Jerry was a baptized member of his church. He loved the outdoors. Jerry never met a stranger. He enjoyed riding Harleys, going to auctions, raising chickens and riding his horse Autumn.

Jerry and his first wife Colleen were neighbors of ours , years ago in west memphis ark. he was a good man . RIP

Jerry was a good friend and brother, who never met a stranger, liked by all, and will be missed.
Jerry loved life and was so much fun to be around, we became friends about 37 years ago and I can honestly say that some the funniest and most uncomplicated times in my life were spent just hanging out with him and his family. Go rest high buddy! 💕

Jerry was a great friend and christian. He was always friendly to every one. We will greatly miss him. We will miss him in the choir at church but we know that he is now singing in the Heavenly choir.

Our family just loved Jerry. And I am so glad God sent him to our little church. we got to know him and love him. He was a great man. And we are truly blessed to have gotten to know him. My son Cody was his little buddy. And Cody always loved to go and do stuff with Jerry. We will truly miss him but can't wait to see him again one day.

It was a real honor to be able to call Jerry my friend and a brother in Christ. And I feel so blessed that I got to be a part of his being baptized a day I will never forget. Everybody in our church love Jerry and we will forever miss him but looking forward to seeing him again on the other side.
Our don’t go hungry program at The Gospel Hall will never be the same without Jerry being there cooking for us but we will continue to do it in honor of him.
Jerry was a great leader in the Boilermakers organization,if he was your Forman or welding across from you he was a man of integrity.The Lord allowed us to spend time and let us get to know a great champion. I’m praying for Mrs.Porterfield and the family for strength to get through this though season.
