Karen L. Kelley, 61, of Timbo, Arkansas passed away on Friday, April 30, 2021 at the Springs of Batesville in Batesville, Arkansas. Karen was born on December 28, 1959 in Lafayette, Indiana to the late Gus and Shelia (Ensminger) Lumpe. Karen loved the Lord and was a dedicated member of Bethany Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Onia, Arkansas. Karen earned a Bachelor's Degree in both English and Spanish and was a homemaker who treasured her family. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, reading, writing poetry, and loved the family farm. Karen was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, and mother who will be greatly missed by all of her loving family and friends.
Karen is survived by her only son, Joseph ''Joe'' Douglas Kelley; three brothers, Abe Lumpe, Nate Lumpe, and Andrew Lumpe; father-in-law, Ernest Kelley, and many extended family and friends.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Gus and Shelia (Ensminger) Lumpe; husband, Douglas Ernest Kelley, and mother-in-law, Sarah Kelley.
Visitation for Karen is Wednesday, May 5, 2021 from 10:00-11:00 AM at Roller Crouch Chapel in Mountain View, Arkansas. Funeral services will follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 AM with Brothers Roy Jones and Tom Tutt officiating. Interment will follow the service at Red Doors Cemetery in Mountain View, Arkansas.
Pallbearers are the deacons of Bethany Landmark Missionary Baptist Church. Honorary pallbearers are her brothers, Abe Lumpe, Nate Lumpe, and Andrew Lumpe.
Roller Crouch Funeral Home in Mountain View, Arkansas is in charge of the arrangements.

Karen was brilliant, kind, and funny. When I first visited her in Batesville after many years of not seeing her, I heard that laugh, and suddenly it was like we were 13 again in her room on Amherst Avenue laughing about life's absurdities. My heart goes out to Joe, Abe, Nate, Andy, and all who love Karen, as I always will. May your poet's soul be at peace, amiga.

Karen was one of the nicest people I have ever known, a true friend, with whom I could talk about serious things one minute and be silly with the next minute. We met in college, which was a great time in my life, and knowing her made it even better. I loved her with all my heart and will always cherish her friendship. My condolences to all her loved ones.
