I served in the Army.

Clark "Bentley" Bentley MasseyI am a Veteran.

of Marshall, AR

August 6, 1947 - April 26, 2021

Clark Bentley Massey, age 73 of Marshall, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 26th, 2021 at UAMS in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born in Marshall, Arkansas on August 6th, 1947 to Herman Massey and Pearl Maxey Massey.

Bentley grew up in the Campbell area of Searcy County and attended school in Leslie, graduating in 1965. He was a United States Army Veteran and served from 1966 until 1968 in Vietnam. He married Bethel Ragland on September 3rd, 1971. Bentley worked for many years building homes, first with his father-in-law, Arvel Ragland, and later with his brother-in-law, Jeff Ragland. Never one to sit still for too long, when he wasn't busy building homes, he was working on the farm, tending his garden, hunting and doing everything he could to help others in need. He served as a Sunday school teacher and deacon at the Marshall Assembly of God and he devoted countless hours to studying the Word and preparing lessons. Bentley loved his family dearly and becoming a "Poppy" to his grandson, Landry, brought him so much joy. He loved taking Landry fishing and on 4-wheeler rides, and he never missed an event or performance at Landry's school.

Survivors include his loving wife of 49 years, Bethel Massey of the home; sons, Heath Massey of Marshall and Brandon Massey and wife Stacy of Bentonville; one very special grandson, Landry Jack Massey; two honorary grandsons, Gabin Amichaud of France and Bela Gellert of Germany; and many other extended family and friends who will mourn his passing.

Funeral services for Bentley will be 11:00 AM Friday, April 30th, 2021 at Marshall Assembly of God Church with Bro. Sam Horton officiating. Visitation will be 10:00 till 11:00 AM preceding the service. Burial will be at Red Hill Cemetery. Bearers will be Larry Steve Johns, Philip Turner, Jason Baker, Jack Treat, L.J. Treat and Duane Ragland. Honorary bearers will be Nelson Ragland, Jeff Ragland, Tim Ragland, Nathan Ragland, Grant Ragland, Cody Ragland, Quinton Ragland, Jake Ragland and Shelley Ragland Collins.

So sad to hear of Bentley’s passing. What a kind and genuine heart he had. We always looked forward to his smile. He and Jeff built our house, he helped to make it the beautiful home it is and his craftsmanship will forever be treasured.
Prayers and blessings to his family

This is such a difficult time for your family...all I can do is let you know that I am praying for peace and comfort for you all. Bethel when your heart is ready to break apart for sadness... just remember to tell yourself how blessed you were to have one another for 49 years and that this is only a temporary separation until you will again be reunited in glory. I remind myself of this often ...even now.
God Bless and comfort
Pat

Bethel, Heath, Brandon & Family,

Our hearts are so sad, but we know heaven is rejoicing. I'm sure your family that is already gone are shouting hallelujah's all over heaven. Bentley was such a good and Godly man & we will miss seeing him here but thankful of having the assurance of seeing him again. We loved him very much and our prayer is that God will comfort your family in His loving arms until that great reunion day. Love you guys so such.

Bethel, and family, we are so sorry about Bentley passing away. We know there is a better home awaiting for us that have been saved. This old world is not our home, it’s just a preparing place for eternity. We know Bentley was saved, and he is home with the Lord. We send you all our love, deepest sympathy, and prayers.

My heart go's out to Bethel. the boy's and all the family. Bentley was a GREAT person/man. Never seen him upset, no matter where you ran into Bentley he always had a smile and something nice to say. Never heard anyone say a negative thing against him, only great things he had done. Bentley will meet everyone of his family in heaven someday!
