Marianne Schapendonk

of Mountain Home, AR

April 27, 2021

Mrs. Marianne Schapendonk, age 77, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away at home on Tuesday, April 27, 2021. She was born to parents Mario and Corinne (Sfara) Munarin on February 12, 1944 in Blue Island, Illinois.
She is survived by her loving husband, Robert Schapendonk, Sr.; one son, Robert ''Bobby'' Schapendonk, II and girlfriend, Jessica of Chicago, Illinois; goddaughter, Kim Boey; two sisters, Christine (Dean) Grantham of West Chester, Pennsylvania, and Katherine (Ray) Horvath of Alpharetta, Georgia; nieces, Jennifer Horvath and Robyn Stram who is also her goddaughter; nephews, Chris Horvath and Jeff Horvath; and numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Marianne was a faithful member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church. She spent 35 years as a Real Estate agent in the Mountain Home area working at Gilbert Reality. Before that, when her and her family moved from Chicago, she worked at a Bridal Salon where she began building wonderful relationships within the community. She was also at one time the Director of North Central Arkansas Pageants, which she greatly enjoyed, but there was one thing that she enjoyed even more, and that was Christmas. Christmas was the highlight of every year for Marianne. While she waited for that special time to arrive, she liked to spend her time galivanting with friends and family by shopping and dining out on the town. Of course, being from the Chicago area, she was a diehard fan of the Chicago Cubs. Marianne is deeply loved and will forever be missed by all her family and friends.
A memorial mass will be held on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church with Reverend Norbert Rappold as Celebrant. A brunch will follow at the church. The services will be streamed on Facebook live, which can be found at https://www.facebook.com/RollerMountainHome/. Arrangements are under the direction of Roller Funeral Home.

What a wonderful woman and an amazing real estate agent! I have fond memories of working with Marianne in the late 1990s at Ed Gilbert's office. I haven't lived in the Twin Lakes area in many years and so I haven't seen her as often as I used to, but it was always a pleasure to see her when we were lucky enough to run into each other. Blessings to you, Bob and Bobby - you were both always so kind and a pleasure to be around as well. I'll keep a good thought for you both in my heart.
