of Bryant, AR

September 28, 1931 - April 22, 2021

MSgt Harold Eugene Harding, USAF Ret, 89, of Bryant, Arkansas, passed away April 22, 2021, at his home in the arms of his wife and daughter. He was born September 28, 1931, in Monserrat, Missouri, to the late Tora Katherine Robinson Thompson and Henry Willis Harding.

Harold is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Leta Marian Barnes Harding and his devoted daughter, Susan Jean Harding. He is also survived by his special in-laws, Jerry and Dolores Barnes, and four wonderful nieces and their families, Linda (Joel) Grenier, Debra (Tim) Friesen, Diane Barnes, and Nancy (Mike) Davidson.

Preceding Harold in death were his parents-in-law, Eual Alvis and Glenna Faye Lockhart Barnes; his special aunt, Sophia Robinson Gulick; two brothers and two sisters.

Harold loved his family and friends. He had a special place in his heart for children and animals. He loved all the family dogs, especially sweet Murphy. At the age of sixteen, he joined the Army and served honorably in both the Army and Air Force until his military retirement in 1972. Harold became a private pilot and loved every minute he was able to spend in the air. He spoke of his love of flying with great affection all the days of his life and was heartbroken when he had to give it up due to health reasons. He moved his family to Bryant, Arkansas from Missouri in 1994 where he spent years fishing with his beloved brother Mike and the Barnes family.

Recent years brought challenges of physical decline and limited mobility. Harold spoke of his special gratitude for family visits during this time. He felt the love with every visit, and it brought great joy and comfort to know how much others cared for him. Special times were cherished with Sharon Jennings Murrell over a lifetime of friendship.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, April 27, 2021, at Roller Alcoa Funeral Home, 6700 Alcoa Rd. Benton, Arkansas.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Saline County Humane Society.

Karla and I were blessed to know you and to know you enjoyed Karla's mother, Daphnia, as a fishing buddy. Much love to Leta and Susan.
