December 8, 1957 - April 15, 2021
Sharon Misenheimer (Gillihan), 63, of Mountain View, Arkansas, passed away at home, surrounded by loved ones, on April 15, 2021. A viewing will be held at 2:00 PM, followed by a graveside service at 3:00 PM, on Monday, April 19, 2021, at Norick Chapel Cemetary, 7966 Misenheimer Road, in Mountain View. Alan Misenheimer, Jason Smith, Jonathan Stalcup, Camron Misenheimer, Scott Thompson, and Tim Winningham will serve as pallbearers, while Dennis Gillihan, Doyle Gillihan, Garry Gammill, Jackie Engle, Ethan Smith, and Nick Fisher will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Sharon Kay Misenheimer was born in Mountain View, Arkansas, on December 8, 1957, to parents Richard and Thelma Gillihan. The middle of five children, Sharon developed a love of the outdoors, and a strong bond with her family, at a young age. Together with her brothers and sisters, Sharon's early years were spent going for swims in the creek, crushing berries for pretend Kool-Aid, and playing in a playhouse they built at the bottom of their hill. In the fall and winter, the family spent time cutting firewood and rolling giant snowballs down the hill.
Sharon was always a hard worker. While still in high school, she worked at the shirt factory in her spare time. In 1988, Sharon began working at Mountain View Custom Butchering, where she met, and fell in love with, her husband Alan. For the next 32 years, they worked 6 days per week, side by side, and still found time to raise a family, grow and can their own produce, and tend to their chickens, goats, sheep, and other livestock.
Sharon enjoyed many things in life, but nothing put a bigger smile on her face than spending time with her grandkids, going on motorcycle or 4-wheeler rides with Alan, working in her garden, or tending to her chickens. The only thing that made her happier than any one of these activities, was when she was able to share her love of gardening or animals with her grandsons.
Though Sharon may have left this earth, her memory and influence will live on through her husband, Alan Misenheimer; her son, Jason Smith; her daughter Kayla Stalcup and husband Jonathan; her three grandsons Ethan Smith, Jon Stalcup, and Ryan Stalcup; her two sisters, Brenda Gammill and husband Garry, and Glenda Engle and husband Jackie; her two brothers, Dennis Gillihan and wife Debbie, and Doyle Gillihan and wife Annette; her loving in-laws Ralph and Sue Misenheimer, Jay Misenheimer and wife Lisa, Dee Lance and husband Steven; and her many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Thelma Gillihan; and her great aunt, Maudie Gillihan.
Sharon was saved on July 11, 1973, in the waters of Rocky Bayou Creek, just off Herpel Road. If God had need of a master gardener, he called home the best. We will love and miss her, always, but will also take comfort in knowing she is no longer in pain.
The family would like to express its gratitude for the extraordinary care and love Sharon received from Dr. Charles Pearrow, and Dr. Jeffrey Holt, during her last years. Thank you, gentlemen. You both truly went above and beyond.

My prayers are with her dear family and friends. She was a very nice person. Her smiling personality will be missed but so proud that she is no longer in pain and in a better place.
The trail of memories left by Sharon is one that has been filled with kindness, love, compassion, inspiration, and courage. The first time I remember meeting Sharon - she was helping her grandparents , Blondie and Wyatt Gillihan, in their yard. Her family lived across the street, and she had came just to be sure they were doing okay. She was a great blessing to her Uncle Roland and Aunt Maudie Gillihan too. All 4 of them spoke often about how blessed they were to have such a caring young lady in their family. She loved immediate family unconditionally.
She has been a wonderful addition to the families of all her in laws. Her life has been a blessing to all privileged enough to be touched by her kind spirit and day to day grace.
She has now gone to her final homecoming. This heavenly homecoming will last forever. May all that knew Sharon, especially her loving family be comforted with precious memories and the knowledge that she is now pain free and resting peacefully with God.
Our love and prayers are with you all. I will always remember that wonderful smile that would brighten her whole face. She will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
I am so sorry for your loss. Prayers for all the family. May God give you peace and comfort.
