Jimmy is survived by his wife, Becky Cox; sons, James Earl ''Stoney'' Cox, Jr. and his wife Teresa of Etta Mississippi; Robert Paul ''Robbie'' Cox of Ripley, Mississippi; daughter, Erica Lynn Cox of Memphis, Tennessee; bonus son, John-Michael Purifoy and wife Allison of Brownsville, Tennessee; grandsons, Jacob Cook and Silas Muschong; and a bonus granddaughter Ava Cook; brothers: Joe Cox (Judy) of Hughes, Billy Cox of Horseshoe Lake, Larry Cox (Gail) of Horseshoe Lake; sisters: Lela McCollum of Horseshoe Lake, Dorothy Mooney of Hughes, Virginia Cox of Solsberry, Indiana, Shirley Bailey of Paragould, and Debbie Clark of Franklin, North Carolina and a host of nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends.

Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, April 15, 2021, followed by a 2:00 p.m. graveside service at Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion with Rev. Jim King officiating. Arrangements are by Roller-Chenal Funeral Home (501-224-8300).

Memorials may be made to First Marion Baptist Church, 2137 Arkansas 77, Marion, AR 72364.

Heaven gained another Angel when Uncle Jimmy went home. He was always one of my favorite uncles and I always got a huge hug when I saw him. Dementia has taken some wonderful people from our family but I will hold on to the memories I have of them for as long as I can. I love all of you and I’m sorry I wasn’t able to be there to say goodbye. RIP UNCLE JIMMY I love you❤️

I remember meeting Jimmy in 1996 at Horseshoe Lake. We immediately became friends and we always had jokes for each other. He was a man that loved Jesus and his family. So sorry to hear him passing but I know he is with Jesus now. Prayers for Becky and Erica and the rest of him family. You will be missed.
