November 22, 1946 - April 9, 2021
Elton Wayne Lee passed away Friday, April 9, 2021, at the age of 74 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Alma (Standridge) Lee. He is survived by his sister, Madeline (Lee) Gardner, brother-in-law, Terry, his niece, Terri Michelle Gardner, and a very dear friend, Evelyn Blass.
Elton retired from the Secretary of States Office where he was employed for more than 40 years. He enjoyed day trips and lunches with his friends, Tim, Larry, Les, Susan, and of course Evelyn. Elton loved going to Branson at Christmas, to Orange Beach in the summer, to the casinos and was so excited to go on his first airplane trip to Las Vegas. Elton was a special person with a gentle soul and will be deeply missed.
A graveside will be 2:00pm on Tuesday, April 13, 2021, at Kennerly Cemetery in Roland, Arkansas. A visitation will be from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Roller Chenal funeral home on Monday, April 12, 2021.
The family would like to thank the staff at Cabot Health and Rehab and Kindred Hospice for their care and kindness for Elton during this difficult time.
Those of us at Quapaw Quarter UMC, the church across the street from where Elton lived, miss him! For YEARS, we had frequent sidewalk conversations, friendly waves hello and goodbye, and would compare notes on neighborhood happenings. We sometimes shared potluck meals. Elton was a good neighbor, a gentle soul, and we counted him as an integral part of our community. We are grateful to have known him. Our prayers are with his family and with Evelyn.
I am so saddened to read this. Elton gave me comfort from afar when he would come out of his apartment building and wave to me and watch as I delivered food to the kitchen at the church across the street. I was there when he was leaving and he waved then, too. He sure will be missed.
To the entire family, my sincere condolences in your loss. May you feel God's presence in the coming days and weeks of mourning.
