Joel Daniel Sims, age 80 of West Memphis, Arkansas passed away on March 22, 2021 in Florida. He was born March 6, 1941 to parents JB and Lorrene Sims.

Joel was the widower of Patsy Sims. He most recently worked for CPS Chemical in West Memphis but spent most of his life working as a farmer with the Wyanoke Plantation in Crittenden County and the Ragland Plantation in Hughes, Arkansas.

He is survived by his son Kenneth Sims (Angela) of Largo, Florida and his brother Bo Sims and his son in law Mark Carlo. He will be deeply missed by two grandchildren, April Pennington and Ashley Cox as well as the great grandchildren, Taylor Armstrong and Olivia Pennington. Joel is preceded in death by his wife Patsy Sims, his daughter Donna Sims Carlo, his parents and his sisters Minnie Vance and Pearl Tyler.

Roller-Citizens Funeral Home will be following guidelines issued by the Arkansas Department of Health and the CDC regarding COVID-19. Social distancing of at least six feet must be practiced and all funeral attendees must provide and wear their own mask.
