I served in the Army.

Harrol Glen KingI am a Veteran.

of Marshall, AR

October 15, 1941 - March 31, 2021

Harrol Glen King, age 79 of Marshall, Arkansas passed from this life on Wednesday, March 31st, 2021 at the VA Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born in the small community of Thola, Arkansas on October 15th, 1941 to Earl King and Thelma Richardson King.

Harrol joined the United States Army National Guard when he was a junior at Timbo High School. He was in the Marshall Maintenance Unit. Over the years he had many great new experiences with the unit. After working around Marshall as a mechanic for several years, he went to work for the Treece Butane Company in town, delivering gas to many residents while getting to know everyone. He then went to work full time for the Army National Guard, keeping the Armory in Marshall going strong for many years. Harrol was with this unit when they deployed in support of Operation Desert Storm and Iraqi Freedom. This was an experience he would never forget and loved to talk about to anyone who was interested. He loved all of his guard buddies that he served with and kept up with many of them after he retired. Harrol loved going to the coffee shop and visiting with all his friends. He could be found, along with his long time co-worker, Lee Johns at Misty's every morning catching up on all the news.

Survivors include his grandchildren, Natalie King, Caleb King, Shakoda Hertter, Rylee Hertter, Parker Hertter, Mason McDonald and Amanda (Christian) Drake; great-grandchild, Olivia Drake; his son-in-law, Robert Hertter; sister, Carol (Donald) Cartwright; nephew, Jerry Dale (Laura) Smith; niece and nephew, Oakley Smith and Joshten Smith; two aunts; and many cousins who he loved dearly.

Harrol was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Thelma King; his wife, Sharon Mae King; his son, Anthony King; mother of his son, Linda Owens King; and daughter, Shaley Hertter.

Funeral services for Harrol will be 2:00 PM Monday, April 5th, 2021 at the Veterans Memorial Hall in Marshall, Arkansas with Bro. Shirl Williams officiating. Visitation will be 1:00 till 2:00 PM preceding the service. Burial will be in Harness Cemetery near Leslie, Arkansas where Harrol will be laid to rest with Military Honors. Friends and family will serve as bearers.

I am so sorry for your loss! Harrol was a good man, a good friend, and a good neighbor!! I went to school with him at Timbo and have known him my entire life! He will be missed by his family and friends! He spent Easter in the presence of Jesus Christ and reunited with his wife, Sharon, his son, Anthony, and daughter, Shaley, his parents, and a host of family members who passed on before him! My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time! May God bless you and give you comfort in the days to come!

We were so sorry to hear of Harrol passing. He was a great service to Searcy County. I met him many years ago working with him on events, he would let us use at the Armory. We had many Searcy County Cattleman's Association meeting there! I was very close friends with his son Anthony. It was always a good visit with Harrol at E Daniels Hardware store with the group! God Bless the Family.
