Linda Faye Darrough

of Benton, AR

October 2, 1954 - March 29, 2021

Linda Faye Darrough, 66, of Benton, departed this life on Monday, March 29, 2021. She was born on October 2, 1954 in Little Rock to Louis and Martha Sue Simmons Payne.

Linda was a faithful member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, where she was known as a ''mother'' of the church. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior, which shaped her caring heart and devoted ways of teaching and sharing Christ and those attributes made her well-loved and respected. She adored her family, especially her husband of 47 years, Joe. Anyone who knew Linda knew that she loved music and shopping at the Dollar Store. She worked for Woodlast for over 20 years and continued her working life at Saline Memorial Hospital, serving in Dietary, until her health failed her. She was a true servant of Christ and touched many hearts through her life. Many people she met found Christ not only through her evangelism, but simply through how she lived and treated others. She will be missed, but her memory will be cherished, and her legacy will continue through those who loved and cared for her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Melvin Payne, and Lewis Payne, Jr.

Linda is survived by her husband, Joe T Darrough; son, Edwin Jones and his wife, Carie; daughters, LaShawn Bullard and her husband, Phillip, and Felicia Lewis and her husband, Almond; her two sisters, Loretta Simmons and Marilyn Payne; nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and many other extended family members and friends.

A Funeral Service will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 3, 2021, at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 1305 S. East Street, Benton. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday, April 2, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Roller-Alcoa Funeral Home, 6700 Alcoa Road, Benton, AR.

At the family's request, you are asked to wear a mask for attendance.
