Charlie was good people. We ran together as young men down in Brownsville Texas. He consistently took all my money on football bets. He had a heart of gold and, man, did the Los Chuys from Amigoland Mall have a big old time in the late '70s. He made a positive contribution to my life.

I got to know Charlie well in cardiac rehab. That hour 3 days a week definitely became something I looked forward to because of Charlie. We started making many connections of people we knew before we ever figured out we were both from West Memphis. It was a joy keeping in touch with him since and he truly was a blessing on my life! Fly High Charlie!

I'm so sorry for your loss. I first met Charlie in the 8th grade at St. Joseph, he was one of the nice guys. I'm thankful for all the Facebook posts which enabled old friends to stay in touch. He was always kind and his smile was contagious; I think that's what I'll remember the most about him. May God Bless his beautiful family and you find peace knowing he now rests with our Lord and Savior.

Man-o-man... so very sorry to hear the news. We've lost a great man, a fellow Tiger fan, truly one of our best. Charlie was one of a kind, he will be missed. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, husband, and friend. I will always have many fond memories. Goodbye my friend, my brother...

Oh, and Charlie, when you see Dana up there, tell him that he should have told Askew to shoot the damn ball.
