I served in the Army.

Marcus Larry McNabbI am a Veteran.

of Little Rock, AR

February 24, 1949 - March 26, 2021

On Friday, March 26, our Lord Jesus wrapped His loving arms around Marcus ''Larry'' McNabb, 72, and carried him home. Larry was born on February 24, 1949 in Coalinga, CA to Marcus and Erma McNabb. He then moved with his parents to Morenci, AZ where he lived in his early years. At the age of 14, he moved with his family to Scotland, AR. In 1968 he felt called to serve his country and enlisted in the Army. He spent a tour of duty in Vietnam where he earned a silver star, a bronze star, a purple heart and other commendations. After his time in the Army, he moved to Little Rock and became a Little Rock police officer. He proudly served the city for 31 years and retired in 2003 due to back issues. In his retirement he enjoyed working on family genealogy and playing video games. He also did lots of ammo reloading and loved going to the gun range to shoot. But mostly he enjoyed being a couch potato and watching the History channel! Larry loved history and could tell you facts that you didn't even want to know!

Larry is survived by his doting wife of 45 years, Sally, of Little Rock and his sister, Mary Jane of Scotland, AR. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marcus and Erma: sister, Brenda Joyce (Stripling) and nephew, Toby John Stripling.

Funeral services will be held at Larry's church, Chenal Valley Baptist Church on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at 2 PM. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Scotland, AR on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at 11 AM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Chenal Valley Baptist Church, 1800 Rahling Rd., Little Rock, AR 72223.

Special thanks to all the doctors, nurses and staff at St. Vincent's ICU, Cornerstone Hospital, and Arkansas Hospice who looked after Larry during his lengthy and valiant fight with his illness. Your care and concern will always be remembered.

Due to Covid-19, we ask that everyone bring and wear their own masks while attending services.

Sally, I am so sorry to hear of Larry’s passing. I managed the cookie store at Park Plaza and enjoyed visiting with him every Friday night when he worked off duty. I often referred to him as my “adopted Daddy.” He was a wonderful man and a great influence. I know he is missed by all that knew him and loved him. I will keep you in my prayers.
