Carl Sevoy Gayler, 92, of Mountain View, Arkansas,
passed away on Thursday, March 25, 2021. Carl was
born on September 16, 1928, to the late Ira Owen
and Zadie (Dobbins) Gayler.
Carl worked in a variety of jobs around the
United States in his early life including picking
dates in Indio, California, four years in the United
States Air Force, and construction and carpentry.
He settled back in Mountain View with his family
in his mid-forties where he primarily built homes
for families. Carl was a loving, devoted family
man who enjoyed spending time in nature whether
hunting, fishing or simply taking a drive with
loved ones through the forest. Well known for
his humor and antics, he enjoyed spending time
with friends and family playing cards, cooking
fish and fritters for special occasions, and being
known as a hard working, kind, and fair man.
He is survived by his loving wife of 73 years,
Eva Naomi (Hedges) Gayler; his children Ivan
Carl Gayler, Carla Sue (Gayler) Mabry, and Keith
Sevoy Gayler; six grandchildren, Mariah Gayler,
Jerrod Jay Mabry, Nathan Jay Mabry, Angelica
Gaia Gayler, Mila Iva Gayler, and Graham Henry
Gayler; and one great grandchild Denali
Bryce Gayler.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents
Ira Owen and Zadie Gayler and his seven
siblings, Grady Gayler, Odis Gayler, Jewel
Thomas, Opal Thomas, Lavon Stevens,
Jennings Gayler, and Maxine Lawrence.

My prayers are with the family and who knew Carl. I knew them back when Ronnie was pastor at the Gaylor (Shady Grove Missionary Bapt Church) and at Fifty Six Bapt Church. My you be comforted with many good memories.
I have so many good memories of Uncle Carl, he was always happy, with a good joke. I loved to hear the stories of the times he and my Daddy would walk to see and date my Mom and Aunt Naomi. He make a good impression on all that new him, my Daughter has good memories of him and Aunt Naomi also. My prayers and love go out to all the Family.
Dear family, I have such good memories of being a caregiver to Carl,fixing peanut butter pies for him and possum tales he would tell me.He always asked me when had I been possum hunting and ask what time we could go hunting later.Sorry we never got to hunting but was fun talking about it.

We were saddened to hear about Carl. I had the privilege of knowing Carl for more than 50 years. I have always had the utmost respect for him. He was a wonderful man who will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Our thoughts and prayers for Naomi and family.
