Jackie Leon Cooper

of Mountain Home, AR

March 25, 2021

Mr. Jackie Leon Cooper, age 83, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away on Thursday, March 25, 2021. He was born to parents Jewell Joseph and Geta Mae (Smith) Cooper on November 27, 1937 in Salem, Arkansas.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Lynnell (Stewart) Cooper; two sons, Jay (Christi) Cooper of Mountain Home, Jeff Cooper of Mountain Home; one daughter, Janna (Daniel) Ryan of Mountain Home; four grandchildren, Brandy (Adrian) Hubbard of Harrison, Nate Cooper of Mountain Home, Dylan and Bailey Ryan, both of Mountain Home; and one great grandchild, Nella Mae Hubbard.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Jackie and his family bought and currently own Baxter County Abstract in 1982; the business is in the very building where his father owned and operated Cooper Drug Store. Jackie was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church. He was one of the earliest life-time members of the Elks Lodge as well as a member of the Mountain Home Lions Club. Jackie graduated with the class of 1955 from Mountain Home High School. In his earlier years, Jackie enjoyed bird hunting and golfing. He loved music and had a record collection to prove it. He was a loyal fan of the Arkansas Razorbacks. Jackie loved taking his family to the lake and pulling his children on the skis. He was a gentle, kind-hearted, patient man who loved his family dearly. Jackie will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and community.
A visitation will be held on Monday, March 29, 2021 from 1-2 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. at Roller Funeral Home with Brother Keith Dodson officiating. The interment will follow the services at Baxter Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First United Methodist Church of Mountain Home, Mountain Home Food Basket, and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Arrangements are under the direction of Roller Funeral Home.

I was very sorry to hear of Jackie's death. We were friends in the same grade at MHHS, participated together in some of the school's activities together, and graduated together in 1955. Also saw Jackie sometimes when we were students at the Univ. of Arkansas. We always stopped and had a pleasant chat with each other.

I offer my sincere condolences to Lynnell and all Jackie's family.

Bill Keys.

Dear Lynell and family, I can't imagine your feeling of loss. Lynell, I can't believe we are of this age that we are loosing our nursing classmates and husbands. I still think of you as you were when you were dating Jack, looking forward to graduation and your marriage. God blessed you with a wonderful man and 58 years of marriage. I pray that happy memories will help heal your heart as you grieve.
