Pascal Joseph BaroneI am a Veteran.

July 25, 1934 - March 19, 2021

Pascal J. Barone, Pat, age 86, from Chicago, Ilinois passed away unexpectedly on March 19th.

Pat was a hardworking man, a faithful husband to Peggy ''his girl'', a loving brother to Rosemary, Dad to his three children: Lisa, Trish ,Joe and Papa to his seven grandchildren: Nick, Anthony, Lexi, Danielle, Tori, Shelly and Aidan.

He carried two of his favorite withered photos of ''his girl'' in his wallet. His eyes lit with love when he showed off the photo of the woman he loved so very much. He was married for fifty-seven years. They made it through many changes over the years but were always the happiest when they were together. Pat was a hardworking man, led by example. He had rules, not guidelines, and held his three children to high expectations with consequences for failing to reach them. He worked hard and long hours, gave the best to his family and sacrificed so much so that they could have what they needed. Now that his children have families of their own, they are all grateful that they pushed themselves to reach the potential they saw in us. We all learned morals and values from not only his words but how he lived his life.

Dad had a sister we called Auntie Ro. She defines family and expressed and showed love to his wife, family and grandchildren alike. Pat was not as open to express in words, how he felt, but you always knew he loved you. When Pat became Papa, we all saw a softer side. Smiles and joking around and a transition into a fun-loving Papa who was so proud of HIS grandkids. Even from afar, he always called on their birthday and drove to Chicago and Florida several times each year for holidays and special occasions.

Pat and Peggy retired then moved to Fairfield Bay, Arkansas in 1997 to retire. Pat enjoyed fishing, golfing, boating, traveling, meeting new people and playing dominoes and card games. His faith in God had strengthened over the years and he became a Knight at St Francis Catholic Church. He also became a volunteer Fire Fighter for Fairfield Bay Firehouse, Three. Helping those that needed help was something he enjoyed doing. He also enjoyed spending time at Indian Hills Golf course where he became famous for a ''hole in one on hole #3'' in May of 2018. He continued golfing another year then started to slow down.

The last six months were difficult. Peggy was always by his side. He showed more emotions and heard more ''I Love You's'' and appreciation for the help he needed. It was a difficult time for us all to see this great, strong man get weaker and need help. He refused to use a cane until he absolutely needed it because, yes, he was a stubborn man. He didn't want anyone (except Peggy) to fuss or worry about him. He wasn't always a saint, although we all agree that Peggy is, but we all love and miss him just the same.

Mass of Christian Inurnment will be 12:00 pm, Friday, March 26, 2021 at St. Francis Assisi Catholic Church in Fairfield Bay, Arkansas.

Aunt Peggy, Lisa, Trisha, and Joe, my heartfelt condolences to all of you. I have the best memories of Uncle Pat when we went on fishing trips and all of the good times at Lakeside campground. He was always so patient and ready to help us out when we seemed to get ourselves into a little trouble. I remember his great sense of humor and his love for fishing. Uncle Pat was an outstanding husband, Dad, and Uncle whose memory will live on with me forever. May God bless all of you in this incredibly difficult time and may he hold Uncle Pat forever in his gentle hand.

AuntPeg, Lisa, Trish and Joe:
I really wish we could be there to give you all a big hug. I’ll never forget Uncle Pat’s sense of humor and hilarious personality! The years spent with the Barone Family at the campground and especially Super Bowl 20 at the Barone house. God bless all and you are on our thoughts and prayers. He will be watching over all of you until you meet again. ❤️🙏🏻

Aunt Peggy, Lisa, Trish, and Joe,

I was so sad to hear about Uncle Pat’s sudden passing. It seems like just yesterday that all of us kids/cousins were together at your house for a bbq or at the campground having a blast! I have nothing but fond memories of Uncle Pat. He always had something funny to say or a timely antic to break the tension when one of the young Stack boys were in trouble for mischief. Even as I write this, I’m smiling thinking of the look on his face when he was pulling one of his practical jokes - that slightly crooked smile he was unsuccessfully fighting to hide.

Although it’s been many years since I’ve seen him, I feel lucky to have had many precious and fun times with him (and all of you). I’m sure you’re all grieving the loss, but I hope you’re grateful for 86 years, and I hope all of your fond memories of Uncle Pat make you smile too!

I love you guys!
Eddie

Peggy, Lisa, Trish and Joe, we are so very sorry. Pat had a strong presence in the family, even while he and Peggy lived in Arkansas. We will fondly remember our vacation to the Ozarks and our trips to Las Vegas and Branson. May he rest in peace and may God console his family.

We were fortunate to meet Pat through our Parish family of St. Francis of Assisi Church, and through the membership in the Knights of Columbus. He was such a kind, caring man, full of fun and friendship. He will be missed. Our prayers and sympathy goes out to Peggy and her family.

I’m saddened to hear of Uncle Pat’s passing, and my heart goes out to you all at this difficult time, especially to Aunt Peggy. Many of my favorite family moments were in the backyard at, usually, Uncle Ed & Aunt Laura’s, with as many of us cousins present as possible. In my memories, Uncle Pat stands out, not just for his distinctive hair & mustache, but also his trash-talking the kids’ hoops action, goading the fellow uncles to join forces to show the kids how the game is played. How everyone escaped those get-togethers without a trip past the ER still boggles my mind. I will forever remember him fondly, and I know you will all miss him dearly.

We are so sorry to hear of Pat's passing. It appears life was getting difficult for him to do the things he enjoyed doing on earth, and he is with his god now.
