of Little Rock, AR
October 3, 1955 - March 12, 2021
Daniel Patrick Benson (D P) unfortunately died at home on Friday, March 12, 2021, at the age of 65. Born to Daniel and Patricia Benson on October 3, 1955, in Madison, Wisconsin, Daniel was the first documented case in medical history to have had polio in-utero. Thus, he was a poster child for March of Dimes.
Fame followed him into the workplace as a young adult working together with his father at Benson Pump. His father was proud of his extraordinary, natural ability for sales. Following his father's passing, Daniel continued to grow Benson Pump into the successful company it is today. Daniel was a magnet for fun and was loved for his sense of humor and wit.
Daniel is survived by his spouse/husband of 31 years, Tony Bowls; his 2 sisters, Deborah Steinbeck and Leigh Benson; his brother Kirk Benson, and multiple nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled Friday, March 19, 2021, at 2 pm at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 1115 College Ave, Conway, Ark. 72032.
Also, please join us one and all for a fun-filled celebration of Daniel Benson's exciting life on Friday, March 19, 2021, from 7-9 pm at Chenal Village Clubhouse/Event Room, 1 Chenal Village Circle, Little Rock, AR 72223. RSVP to Trish at tdane@bensonpump.com or call Trish Dane at 501-329-2969 or e-mail Tony at Tony@tonybowls.com.
Flowers may be sent to either the church or the clubhouse.
I have thoroughly enjoyed each & every visit with DP over the years. A great customer who takes time to visit with you and make sure everything is ok with you and your family. He is even a better person. We will miss your humor and the stories you share. He will be missed. Deepest sympathies to his family, friends and his Benson family. RIP DP
Dear Benson family and friends,
I’ve now traveled so many places in the world, and live in Vienna Austria. I can’t help but think my friend and customer DP helped me get there. I sat across from him the first time in his office in 2003, and I knew immediately we could build an empire together if he allowed it. We broke barriers and made headway in this little town of Conway, and spread our talents together throughout Arkansas. The Christmas parties in Branson, the shows in Hot Springs, the people we influenced.
He was special, and I am proud to have worked with him.
I’ve now experienced life, knowing that I was beside such a legacy.
Thanks DP
And the Benson pump family.

It has been a pleasure doing business with Benson Pump for 20+ years. DP was not only about the business, he was a friend. Benson Pump sponsored many functions and at each of them DP would make sure he connected with everyone. He genuinely cared, he took the time to sit with you, he knew all your family members and everything going on in their lives. He made you feel part of the family. A genuinely nice and upbeat person. He will be missed.
