of Harrison, AR
January 5, 1928 - March 13, 2021
Dorman E. Journagan, age 93, of Harrison, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 13, 2021, surrounded by his family. The son of Enlow and Phoebe Journagan, he was born January 5, 1928, in Omaha, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, Alberta Journagan; an infant son, Richie Journagan; his parents; his brother, Leo Journagan, of Springfield, Missouri; his sister, Lavon Ellison, of Clinton, Missouri; and his second wife, Thelma Nixon Journagan, of Harrison.
Dorman is survived by his children, Janie Magness and husband Benny, Joyce Journagan, and Shirley Harris and husband Mark; his grandsons, Jeffrey Magness and wife Melanie and Weston Harris and wife Jessica; his great-grandchildren, Macy, Paris, and Taylor Magness and James and Benjamin Harris; many nieces and nephews; and his longtime friend, Fern Nicholson.
Dorman was a lifelong resident of Boone County. He was self-employed in the construction business but was always a farmer at heart and always had a cattle farm which he actively worked until three years ago. He always said that he enjoyed working and was never one to sit still. He tried to instill the value of a dollar and the importance of hard work on his daughters and grandsons.
Dorman was a member of Northvale Baptist Church. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and the Razorbacks. As he got older, he enjoyed spending time at his cabin near Lead Hill sitting on his porch watching the deer and turkey with his beloved dog, Frazier, by his side.
Dad, we love you and will miss you dearly, but we have comfort in knowing that you are no longer in pain and that we will see you again.

A piece of my heart is anguished today to hear of your father's passing; but my fond memories of all the times I have spent with him years ago and the recent past...will be forever engrained in my heart! Your whole family has always been family to me and love you all! I know how beautifully you loved and cared for him to the very end; and our praise of him mingles with our tears. But find comfort in knowing that though we mourn his sleeping, we do not mourn like those who have no hope! Because to live is Christ, and to die is gain! God bless you all and may God shine his face down upon you...Joyce, Shirley, Janie and Bennie! 🙠Amen
