Jerome George Geels, 84, of Morrison Bluff, Arkansas passed away on Thursday, March 11, 2021 in Russellville, Arkansas. He was born on June 29, 1936 in Morrison Bluff to his parents, John J. and Louise Mary (Schmitz) Geels. Jerome served in the United States Army Reserves and worked several years in construction including working on the Scranton River Bridge from fruition to completion. He retired from River Valley Animal Foods where he worked for over 20 years. He was a member of the Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Morrison Bluff and always loved to hunt, fish and gardening. In addition to his parents his is preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Weisenfels and Laverne Stovall and two brothers, Eugene Geels and Gilbert Geels. He is survived by his daughter, Karla Hayes of Rogers; two sisters, Marilyn Bishop and husband Mark of West Fork and Carol Canada and husband Jake of Paris and three brothers, James Geels and wife Mary of Scranton, Edward Geels and wife Linda of Subiaco and Robert Geels and wife Donna of ScrantonRosary service will be held at 6:00 p.m., on Sunday, March 14, 2021 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Morrison Bluff. Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Monday, March 15, 2021 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church officiated by Fr. John Miranda. Burial will follow in Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Roller Funeral Home in Paris. Pallbearers will be Craig Geels, Jason Geels, John Geels, Mark Wade, Steve Blackard and Larry Weisenfels. Honorary pallbearers will be Rick Berry and Don Rainey. We are complying with the Arkansas Department of Health guidelines and all attendees must provide and wear their own masks before entering.

My heart is heavy as are many. My father Al would tell so many stories from when he worked with “Preacher” at the rock quarry. Dad said he was the strongest man he ever knew. Nothing but good things to say about Jerome. Rest In Peace big guy.
