He met the love if his life, Martha Jackson, in the early 60's at their place of employment at Noland Co in Memphis TN and they married in 1965 (until she was called home in 2018). It was then, that he expanded his family with three more children. He raised them as his own and loved all his children unconditionally. They love him the same, forever. He was a great husband, Dad, Granddad and role model. You never would have met a kinder, gentler man than Johnny. He never said a discouraging word and never met a stranger.

He was a faithful servant of God, serving as Choir Director or in the choir for several churches over the years including Second Baptist and Fellowship Baptist Churches in West Memphis. His last membership was with First Baptist Church. You could always find him at home in his chair reading the bible. He also sang with several Gospel quartets in his earlier years, notably The Ron Blackwood Quartet. He had a bass voice like no other.
Dad will be greatly missed by his family. He had a great life and left a great legacy.
We want to say thank you to the nurses, care givers and staff of Indian Rock Village and Hospice Home Care for taking such good care of "John". IRV...please remember his smile, his antics, his singing and especially his love for everyone of you.

Lou Ann, I am so sorry for your loss. I pray you keep your sweet memories of your Dad close to your heart.
Lou, Jerry, and all of the family may God bless and comfort you in your grief. Johnny was a good man and always smiling every time I saw him. I first met him at Superior Supply and he still remembered me when I would see him many years later. So sorry for your loss.
Uncle Johnny was one of my favorites and a true gentleman. Charlie and I are sad that we could not be with you all today to celebrate his life and what a life he lived and a legacy he left behind. It was always a highlight of the family reunions to get to spend time with Uncle Johnny. He had a God given talent that he used for God's glory. I asked him at one family reunion if he had a son who looked as much like him as Charlie and he laughed and said "probably not". I made their picture together at every family reunion I was able to attend. Our prayer for the family is that God will provide comfort and give you peace. May you always cherish the memories and time you shared together. God Bless!
Uncle Johnny, my favorite of all time bass singer. I will always remember going to the gospel sings and hearing him sing with the various quartets he sang with. I know momma is excited to see him again. Only wish I could sing as good as him. I will miss you and can’t wait to see you again. Love You Johnny Mac Rogersâ¤ï¸
