To the family of E.O. Johnson,

Imagine my heart sinking when I learned today that E.O. had passed in February! He and I were division mates in S-7 Division on the USS Forrestal. He got out about a year and a half before I did, but he told me he'd be living in the Mountain View area. When I got out of the Navy and started college at Arkansas State, I would take car trips to the Mountain View area in the fall to see the leaves changing. The last time I saw him was around 1981 or 1982. At that time he either managed or owned a Dairy Queen-type establishment in Mountain View. We lost contact after that. My wife and I are in Arkansas traveling the state, getting ideas where to live when I retire in a few years. We passed through Timbo as I remember he lived there the last time I saw him. I stopped at a little gas station and asked if any knew him. That's when I was informed of his passing. He was only 13 and a half months older than me. It really saddens me to learn he's no longer with us. He was a great guy--very funny and easy-going. My heartfelt condolences to his family and friends. May he love being in the presence of our Lord forevermore.

My prayers for the Johnson family at this time. My love goes out to Aunt Wilma, Eddie's extended family, as well as Betty, Shelly and Carolyn and your families. It was a truly neat relationship that we all had as cousins from the Morrison side...spending time on the front lawn and living room of Grandpa and Grandma's place, (quilts on the lawn at evening and crochet by day) as well as descending to the foot of Timbo mountain to visit in the beautiful area of your home place and farm! Lots of good memories from seemingly more simple times. I will be thinking of your all at the service tomorrow. May the rich grace of our loving Heavenly Father and our Savior Jesus Christ strengthen you at this time. He has everything you need! I love you all.

I wish you peace and comfort during this difficult time. It was a blessing to have known Eddie. We became friends over the last two years. If I was having a bad, it changed after I spent a couple of hours with him. He was one of the hardest working associate at Walmart #1114. It was a privilege to know him. RIP, My Friend.

I will forever remember your laugh and witty sense of humor. I will miss you coming to work and stopping by my window to wave and say hi every day, and bye girl when you would leave. That is the last words I heard from you. You are now free of pain and sorrow and reunited with your Suzie!! Fly high Eddie, we will miss you in this world but will see you again some day!

I'm sure going to miss visiting with you & your smiling face, I can't believe your gone. You made it worth going shopping, just because you were & are a wonderful guy. My thoughts & prayers go out to your family. In there time of sorry. I came across a song, Dancing In the Sky, if you have lost someone, maybe it will help. Prayers for Eddie’s family. He was such a nice guy. He was one of the most helpful employees at Walmart. One could ask him where any grocery item was located and he not only would tell you but escort you to the correct aisle and show you the product.
Rest In Peace, Eddie.
