Mae Dacus, 103, passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2021, at Walnut Ridge Nursing Center. She was born February 9, 1918, in Lorado, Arkansas to Ed and Mamie Burton. She lived most her life in Lorado. Mae worked at ASU until she retired. She was a member of Lorado Baptist Church and was baptized in 1932.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Dacus; son, Jerry Dacus; two sisters; two grandchildren, Susan Burdyshaw and Jason Dacus; and son-in-law, Robert Burdyshaw.
She is survived by two sons, Ray (Joanie) Dacus and Roy (Debbie) Dacus; two daughters, Doris Burdyshaw and Betty (Danny) Mitchell; ten grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and ten great-great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be at Lorado Cemetery Friday, February 26, at 10:00 a.m. with Randy Britton officiating.
Pallbearers are Brandon Hoke, Don Kennedy, John Phillips, David Klingensmith, Carlos Eason, and Robert Hoke. Honorary pallbearers will be Weston Wall and Steve Mitchell.
We are complying with the Arkansas Department of Health guidelines and observing social distancing guidelines. All attendees must provide and wear masks at the graveside.
