Betty Lou Hawkins, age 81, of Lexa, Arkansas passed away Saturday, February 13, 2021 at her home. Mrs. Hawkins was born September 14, 1939 in Brickeys, Arkansas to the late James Homer and Ella Mae (Dickinson) Rice. Mrs. Hawkins worked for 25 years at Wal-Mart as the manager of the fabric center. She loved all animals, especially watching birds and she was excellent at sewing.
She is survived by four sons, Dennis Ford (Lettie) of Lexa, Michael Ford (Kim) of Lexa, Johnny Allen Ford (Teresa) of Harrisburg, and Leon Graves, Jr. (Lorie) of Lexa; two stepdaughters, Dianne Burns of New Orleans, Louisiana and Donna McDonald (Sam) of Austin, Texas; ten grandchildren (And another on the way!) and eighteen great-grandchildren; one brother, James Rice (Linda) of Horseshoe Lake; one sister, Ruby Spain (Russell ''Rat'') of Marianna; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mrs. Hawkins was preceded in death by her parents; and by her husband, Thomas Hawkins.
A funeral service for Betty Lou Hawkins will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 22, 2021 at Salem Methodist Church in Moro, Arkansas. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday at the church. Burial will be at Salem Cemetery in Moro. Brother Fred Dover and Brother Rick Jensen will officiate.
Pallbearers are Dennis Ford, Michael Ford, Johnny Allen Ford, Leon Graves, Jr., James Michael Ford and Christopher Allen Ford.
Services will be directed by Roller-Citizens Funeral Home, West Helena, (870) 572-2571.

Mrs Betty will truly be missed. I loved that sweet soul , we worked together for year's. RIL my sweet lady. And to the family I love you and will be praying for you all. But Mrs Betty still left me with a part of her , her son Dennis Ford her twin I will always see her in him.ðŸ˜ðŸ™ðŸ™ðŸ™ðŸ™ðŸ™
Betty was one of a kind! For 30 years she was my mother in law and I will hold on to all the wonderful memories we made. Life is full of mountain tops and deep valleys. It will be the mountain top memories I will cherish. The valleys were very few.
I am lifting all her family in prayer for peace and comfort.
I will, forever, consider you all as my family.
Rest in peace now, Betty. I truly loved you and you will be missed.
I really enjoyed knowing Miss Betty over the years. She was a very special person to our family.
