Rev. John Lee Fulcher, Sr., 90, of Batesville passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2021.

He was born May 6, 1930 in Thurmond, West Virginia to Robert Edward Fulcher and Lillie Evangeline (McCormick) Fulcher.

John was a member of Missionary Baptist Church on Vine Street; he was a minister for over 50 years. He worked in the field of construction, appliance repair, and maintenance at AirPro; he was an artist, mechanic, carpenter, musician, storyteller, and gardener. He was a headstrong and stubborn man with a great sense of humor; he never met a stranger and was a true friend to his neighbors. John saw value in everything and everyone; he was always willing to help people. He walked the streets of Batesville for over 20 years; he enjoyed walking everywhere and would push his wife, Betty along in her wheelchair; he also loved his loyal companion, Cash, his dog!

Survivors include his sons, David Ray Fulcher (Kathryn) of Charlotte, Michael Fulcher (Donna) of Desha, and John Fulcher, Jr. (Cindy) of McHue; daughters, Patricia Payne (David) of Rosie, Rhonda Petro (Jerry) of Liberty, Indiana, and Barbara Jo Ann Conner (Mike) of Jamestown; sister, Ida Jane Cook of Norfolk, Virginia; twenty grandchildren; forty-two great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 61 years, Betty Jo (Parsons) Fulcher; brothers, Edward Fulcher, Charles Fulcher, George Fulcher, Ray Fulcher, and Billy Fulcher; and sisters, Hazel Armentrout and Carol Jean Fulcher.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Conner, Stephan Payne, Alan Fulcher, Mikey Fulcher, Daniel Fulcher, and Nathan Elms. Honorary pallbearer will be Ethan Holt.

All services will be private and with burial at Pleasant Valley Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to Arkansas Children's Hospital, 1 Children's Way, Little Rock, AR 72202 or St Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

To John’s family. I am sorry for your loss. I used to visit with John when he walked with his wife in the neighborhood, when I walked the neighborhood or sometimes when he needed a ride. He was a kind man.
