Bob E. Nelson, 75, of Jonesboro, passed away Sunday, January 31, 2021 at St. Bernards Hospital. He was born November 16, 1945 in Rector, AR to Murray and Eithel (Dortch) Nelson. Bob was the owner of Nelson Printing and Label since 1981. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1968 to 1972. He loved woodworking, antique cars and playing the violin.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Billy Baker; and sisters, Joyce Legrand and Lois Baker.

Those left behind to cherish the wonderful memories of Bob include his loving wife of 50 years, Carolyn (Powell) Nelson; a son, Matthew A. Nelson; a daughter, Nancy J. Nelson; two grandchildren, Adele Johnson and Reagan Nelson; two brothers, Jerry Nelson and James Nelson; and two sisters, Shirley Shields and Kathy Allbritton.

Chapel services will be 2 pm Thursday at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home, 1900 West Washington Avenue in Jonesboro with John Miles officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 1 pm until time of service.

Brandon Johnson, Nick Steele, Greg Baugh and Woody Harrelson will serve as pallbearers. Sean McCasland, Ronnie Richardson, Allen Powell and Ray Nickle will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Per CDC guidelines, masks are required to be worn inside the building and social distancing is to be observed.

Bob could be a stern man but he had a giant heart. I will never forget how good he was to me as a young employee at Nelson Printing. I remember his sense of humor and his work ethic and how much he valued loyalty. I will miss him very much.

Carolyn, and kids..... I am so very sorry about your loss! Bob gave me a start in my young life that led me on a fulfilling career and many adventures.
