of Southside, AR

Janice Tucker Jones, 86, of Southside, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2021.

She was born December 30, 1934 in Elmo, Arkansas to Robert Euin Tucker and Susie Evelyn (Wackerly) Tucker.

She was a hardworking, supportive and dependable woman of the Baptist faith. She dropped out of school to help her family work; she got her GED and went to Nursing School and graduated 3rd in State; she worked at WRMC as an LPN and retired in 1985. She loved quilting, reading, and doing crossword puzzles.

Survivors include her son, Tim Jones (Amy) of Sacramento, California; daughter, Deborah Easley of Southside; six grandchildren, Greg Gordon, Jennifer Jones, Susan Kamper, Meagan Wood, Jeff Jones, and Jessica Gay; seventeen great-grandchildren; and many cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earl Jones; and daughter, Terrye Lambert.

Burial of cremains will take place at Oaklawn Cemetery at a later date.

Memorials may be made in her honor to National MS Society, P.O. Box 91891, Washington DC 20090-1891.

Debbie, my friend, words cannot express the sorrow you must feel at this time. Your mom was a wonderful woman and I know heaven rejoices now. Just know I am praying for comfort and peace for you and your precious family.

Tim and family so sorr about Janice. Saw her at Dollar Store about 2 yrs ago and we had a nice visit. I really enjoyed working with her at Whte River.was a good and caring nurse. Was one of those that was taught hands on nursing. Will pray for you during these trying times. Sister Doris died in 2015. Had a lot of pneumonia the last few yrs. she always enjoyed working with you. Remember the apple plaques with the grandchildren’s names on it Her daughter has the plaque now.
