of Jonesboro, AR
June 30, 1929 - January 26, 2021
On January 26, 2021, Helen Louise Perry; wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister and friend went to be with our Lord peacefully in Jonesboro, at the age of 91. Daughter of the late Raymond and Kittie Mae (Wiggington) Herrington, was born on June 30, 1929 in Caraway. She was united in holy matrimony to James Autho Perry on October 21, 1946. They shared their lives together for 63 years. Helen was a devoted wife to James. She stood by his side and helped meet any challenges that arose in the many successful businesses that they owned. They were both entrepreneurs of their day. They shared the wisdom of these experiences with their sons-in-law and daughters who carried on the family business in their own way. This legacy has carried on through their grandsons, who are still in operation today.
Helen was a Godly, loving and model mother to each of her daughters. She taught them to love God first. They knew on Sunday mornings, Sunday nights and Wednesday nights, they would be in church without question. She loved the Lord with all her heart and taught her girls how to love Him as well. She lived Proverbs 22:1, A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches, and favor is better that silver and gold. Often times she would say she was just passing through here on earth. She knew her Savior and now is with him for eternity.
2 Timothy 4:7, She fought the good fight, finished her course and kept her faith. Helen was an active member to Central Baptist Church. She was also a member of Wisdom Seekers Sunday school and attended as a faithful member and loved her church.
Preceded in death by her parents; husband of 63 years James Perry; grandson, James Paul Sanders; brothers, James Raymond, Carol Preston and Ronnie; sisters, Bernice Herrington, Ermaline Garner, Erma Jean McKinney, Rachel Lewis and Rosie Baxley.

To know Miss Helen was to know strength & a Southern Belle all in one. She was a Great Mom and even mothered me a couple of times. Those times still make me smile fondly as I remember how someone small in stature could be a mighty force. She always treated me as family and for that; I am honored and humbled. The family Miss Helen & Mr. James created was one based on the Word of God, deep love & respect for Him and one another. If you have the privilege of knowing them or one of their children, you are blessed. They exemplified that family is important and the ties that bind are built on values based on scripture. I wish I could say I am half the woman Miss Helen was and in honor of her memory; I will aspire to become a more Godly mother and wife. Love & Prayers for all who love her, Dawn Riggs
