of Benton, AR
March 8, 1967 - January 21, 2021
Richard "Ricky" Crews, 53, of Benton, peacefully passed into the loving arms of his Savior on Thursday, January 21, 2021. He was born March 8, 1967 in Moline, Illinois, to Tommy Lee and Janice Forbes Crews.
Ricky was a loving father, grandfather, brother, friend, and pretty much whatever you needed him to be. His smile and laugh were infectious, and you could never be around him without hearing a joke. He never met a stranger, loved big, and spread joy wherever he was and made sure you always had a smile on your face. To some, Ricky was dealt what some would call "disabilities," but if you didn't physically see him, you would never know he had limitations. His limitations were just opportunities to show the world that he could do whatever he set his mind to. If more people had the mindset that Ricky did, the world would be filled with happier people, and that was something he was eager to share. Even through limited use of his arms and hands, Ricky loved drawing and glass etching, achieving high goals and accomplishments, like etching glass creations depicting the American flag, bald eagle, and the state of Arkansas for multiple governors, which hung in the Governor's Mansion and also in the State Capitol. He will be missed greatly, but his memory will be cherished and his legacy will continue on through those who loved and cared for him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Tommy Lee Crews Jr.
Ricky is survived by his daughter, Brittney Johns and husband, Chris; granddaughter, Caydence Johns; brothers, Johnny Crews and Billy Crews, and many other extended family members and friends.
A Memorial Service celebrating Ricky's life will be Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Temple Baptist Church, 8601 US-67, Benton, AR 72015.
