I just recently found out about my friend's passing. I first met Don Brooks in August 1990, when I was locked out of my apartment, and he took me in, to let me crash at his place over the weekend. To let Him tell it, He saved me from being Homeless, 😂 and he never let Me, Godsey Robinson, or any of the Brothers in the Barber Shop forget it, for the last 30 years! Whether I saw him at Home Depot, Lowe's, special events, or the grocery store. He would always remind me, as he retold the story verbatim, lasting at least 30 minutes, as it happened back in 1990. Don Brooks was indeed a true friend and I miss him terribly. My most sincere condolences to his friends and family.

Don was a true friend to anyone he crossed paths with.

He always tried to take over the conversations in the barbershop and almost talked more than me. Don, Dennis Smith, and I had a bond stronger than his frat brothers. :)

Rest in Peace my brother, you will be truly missed.

My husband, James, introduced me to Don and Diane after we married. Don was extremely kind and truly down to earth. Don and Diane were a sweet couple. I know my James will miss him.

My thoughts are with his family and friends during this time.

Don was always a kind person. We often ended up talking about vehicles during our conversations. He was always my go to person to fix things, because he owned every type tool you could imagine. Rest In Peace my friend.
