Winifred "Bobbie" Rose Evans

of Sherwood, AR

June 18, 1922 - January 13, 2021

WINIFRED ROSE (BOBBIE) EVANS of Batesville, formerly of Sherwood, passed peacefully to her Heavenly home on Tuesday, January 12, 2021, at the age of 98. She was born June 18, 1922, in Washburn, Wisconsin. Bobbie was the daughter of John Wesley and Mittie Rose Hensley. She married Delmar David Evans on April 15, 1939.

She was a production analyst for AT &T and a member of the Telephone Pioneers. ''Grandma Bobbie'' loved her family and her friends. She enjoyed crafts, gardening, sewing, and playing cards and dominoes with her ''Tuesday Girls''. After the death of her beloved Delmar, she became a volunteer at the LRAFB Pharmacy and enjoyed many years of service there, being named LRAFB Volunteer of the year during her tenure.

Bobbie was a faithful member of the Sylvan Hills Church of Christ. She was also a longtime member of the Park Hill Widow Support Group and the NLR Home Extension Club. A past member of the North Little Rock Women's City Club, she was the consummate hostess. She loved to decorate her home for the Christmas Holidays and entertain friends and groups from the church and the Air Force Base.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her three brothers and five sisters.

She is survived by her daughter, Kay Evans Brogdon (Ronnie) of Batesville; grandchildren, David Brogdon (Wendy) of Little Rock, Mary-Katherine Hardin (Chris) of Batesville; Jay Brogdon (Erin) of North Little Rock; nine great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Also surviving is a very special nephew, Bill Wade (Pat) of Cherokee Village and a very special niece, Evelyn Evans of Benton; along with numerous extended family members and friends.

The family is most appreciative of the staff at the Eagle Mountain Assisted Living facility in Batesville. The love and care they provided was exemplary. Bobbie was a resident there for three years and was a true social diva!

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages memorial donations to Eagle Mountain Assisted Living, 302 Woodmont Circle, Batesville, AR 72501

Bobbie was such a special friend. She was an active member of Sylvan Hills Home Extension Club for many years. We missed her so much when she moved, but so glad she was happy at Batesville. Each Christmas our meeting was always at her house. We brought toys for children at Air Base. What a wonderful person!

Our hearts are saddened at the passing of Bobbie Evans. What a lovely person she was as my mother enjoyed her friendship with Bobbie over the years. Mother and I would visit with Bobbie from time to time as she gave us the tour of her beautiful home and all the decor she had assembled to make her house look so nice. Bobbie was a treasure to us and will be missed so much. Our sympathy to her family especially Jay and Erin whom we went to church with. Our prayers go with the family in the months to come. Thank you for sharing this wonderful lady with us over the years. She will not be forgotten.
