Billy Joe Carner, 89, of Lake City, passed away Monday, January 11, 2021 at St. Bernards Medical Center. He was born June 13, 1931 in Lake City to Albert ''AB'' Marion and Ora (Adcock) Carner. Mr. Carner served in the United State Army and was a brick mason. He was of the Baptist belief. Mr. Carner also enjoyed fishing, hunting and trapping, but he loved making a big garden.

Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Eugene ''Bootsie'' Carner and Raymond ''Hatchet'' Carner; sisters, Leavourn McGough, Juanita Adams, Bonnie Carner, Bettye Emerik and Sarah Overman.

Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Juanita Mae Carner; son, Bradley (Janet) Carner; grandson, Luke Carner; brother, Marion''Buddy'' (Linda) Carner and sister, Norma Stotts.

All services will be private.

Arrangements are under the direction of Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home.

Sad to here about uncle joe . Sure loved growing up down at the fish market with him and my Pa Pa fish (Hatchet). He was a good man and always had a huge garden .

Joe was a fine man and one of a kind. He was always good to me. I had already been missing him on the river. There was one log that I always saw Joe crappie fish around. I never would fish around it even when he wasn't there. I won't fish around it now either.

My condolences go out to his family and the friends of "A Real River Man."
