July 31, 1945 - January 8, 2021
Richard Thomas Ring, aka Pete Ring, of Cave City, Arkansas, passed away January 8th, 2021 at age 75.
He was born July 31, 1945 in Batesville, Arkansas to Jeff and Irene Beatrice (Staley) Ring.
Pete's passion was in living for the Lord and the Lord gifted him in the area of serving others. He was always thinking of what he could do to help others. All along his mail route he made good friends and would always look for ways to do something extra if he saw a need or just to encourage someone.
You could often find him driving someone to doctor appointments, picking up mail or running errands for people. For those that had surgery, lost a loved one, was widowed or was going through hard times of some kind, he would call, write, and/or visit. He spent many hours over the years visiting people in nursing homes.
When he wasn't helping someone else move something, fix something or build something, you could find him at the school or at the park picking up garbage.
Pete loved to make people laugh and had a special way with children, always being so silly just to get a good laugh. This was another gift from the Lord. He loved to laugh and joke and retell stories and good memories with people.
He loved his church family and was a member of the Harrison Street Church of Christ. He often served in church and he loved to share the Lord with others. He did so in the last week of his life, encouraging the nurses, and praying for and with them in a moment when it was needed most.
He was a United States Army veteran.
Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Jeff and Irene Ring, brothers Jesse and JD Ring, sister Geraldine Ring, and daughter Shanda Shreve.
He is survived by his children, Mandy Treadway, Kari Ring, and Lucas Ring, siblings Bobby Ring, Sharon Ring, and beloved grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
He was survived and preceded in death by many others who were precious and like family to him and we thank you for these special, deep friendships that brought him so much joy and did so much for him in return.
Pete kept up a book that he wrote in whenever something funny happened that he wanted to remember. He was a special man and will be missed by many. We would love for you to write out memories to share with us so we can create a book filled with memories to remind us of how many lives he touched. Please mail letters to PO Box 331, Cave City, AR 72521 or email your memories to mandytread@hotmail.com

Pete will be missed at Southside. We could always depend on Pete to help support our Gospel Meetings. Great man!
Pete was such a kind man. I will always remember one of the first times our oldest grandson from out of town went to church with us, Pete stuck out his fist (before Covid) for a “fist bump,†and the grandson was so tickled and returned the “bump†and a “high five†with a huge grin. Pete will definitely be missed! Rest In Peace, dear friend!
Pete was a good friend and co-worker. A good Christian man. So sorry for your loss.

Love and prayers to all who love him. He will be greatly missed. He will be in our hearts always.
Pete was one of the "3 Musketeers" who occupied the back seat directly behind my husband and myself. I enjoyed greeting them and teasing them a little nearly every Sunday. He will certainly be missed. His smile could light up a room!
Pete was truly a humble servant of the Lord!!!
When I went into the church building I always saw Pet on the seat he always sat. He always had a big smile on his face and a how you doing voice, when we shook hands and we talked about all the deer he use to see on his rounds. He will be missed by all in church and his seat will forever be empty. Prayers for his families.
Praying for peace and comfort for this family. Pete is now with the one he served everyday, walking those streets of gold and basking in the love of our Lord. You will be missed Pete.
We will sure miss having Pete as a neighbor/friend. He was one of the best people you could find. If we ever needed anything we always knew he would do anything to help. Just his friendly wave and smile was enough to cheer you up. So thankful to have known such a great person. Praying for all of his family and friends.
Pete was such a sweet and Godly man. He enjoyed life and helping others. My first roller coaster ride was with him when I was pretty young on a youth trip to Magic Springs. I was a little scared but he made me feel safe. I am glad to have known such a gentle soul. Thoughts and prayers are with the family.

I've known Pete for fifty plus years and he was one of the kindest people I have ever known. He loved God and it was evidenced by the life that he lived. He was also a lot of fun to be around. Nothing pleased him more than to pull a joke on someone. RIP my friend. We will meet again.
Pete was a very kind man and generous with his time helping others. He was always there offering words of encouragement and reaching out to others with cards and letters. We have lost a fine Christian man and we will always hold his memory close to our heart.
