January 2, 1932 - January 9, 2021

Allen Soo passed away Saturday, January 9, 2021 and went to his heavenly home.

Allen was born on January 2, 1932 in Boston, Massachusetts to Henry and Lee Ping Soo. He spent two years in the military where he was stationed in England. He received his degree from Little Rock University with a major in Biology and minor in Chemistry. Allen spent most of his career as a Microbiologist with the Arkansas Department of Health. He married Evelyn Hee of Kekaha, Hawaii on June 18, 1960. They have a son, Jeffrey of Houston, Texas.

Allen was passionate about dogs and was known by his neighbors for daily walks with his adorable Yorkie, Dusty. They were often seen in their matching yellow raincoats
.
He loved to play cards with his ''Wild Turkey'' buddies. Allen enjoyed the trips to Vegas to meet friends and former classmates. Traveling was the highlight of their retirement years as they ventured on cruise ships and river boats.

Allen is survived by his loving wife, Evelyn; dog, Lovey; his son, Jeffrey; daughter-in-law, Dannette; grandson, Colin; his brother, Albert Soo and wife, Shirley; several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

The family will hold a private graveside service Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander, Arkansas. A visitation will be held from 9 am to 12 noon prior to the service at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home in the Garden Room. We are complying with the Arkansas Department of Health guidelines and limiting indoor visitation attendance to 50 people at one time. All attendees must provide and wear their own masks before entering.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Humane Society, Kidney Foundation or a charity of your choice.

Allen and I worked together at the Arkansas Department of Health Lab for many years. He was known for his kindness but especially his sense of humor. When he walked in smiling we always knew he would have something engaging to say. I am so sorry for your loss, Mrs. Soo and Family.
