Christine Sheffield Clevenger Bratton, 101, of Batesville passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2021.
She was born November 17, 1919 in Guion, Arkansas to John Hill Sheffield and Lula Francis Tate Sheffield.
Survivors include her daughter, Mary Lou Painter; her granddaughter, Lori Spinks and her husband, Barry Spinks; her great-grandsons, Hunter and Bailey Spinks; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Floyd and Ernest Sheffield; her sisters, Georgia Young, Lorene Teague, and Maye Teague; her first husband, John E. Clevenger and her second husband, Conley Bratton.
Christine was a member of Harrison Street Church of Christ in Batesville. She was the owner of the Coffee Cup Café and loved to cook. Later in life she had a beauty shop at home, and in her spare time she loved to sew, garden, and make quilts.
Pallbearers are Hunter Spinks, Bailey Spinks, Mike Collins, Keith Collins, Barry Spinks, and Bill Coles.
Graveside services will begin at 2:00 pm Friday, January 8, 2021 at Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville with Steve Smith officiating.
Memorials may be made in her honor to Children's Home Inc of Paragould, 5515 Walcott Rd, Paragould, AR 72450.
We are complying with the Arkansas Department of Health guidelines. All attendees must provide and wear their own masks and social distancing will be observed.

My thoughts and prayers are with Mary Lou and family in the passing of their mother and grandmother. I remember working on Saturday mornings with Mary Lou at the Coffee Cup cafe as a teenager. I enjoyed being around Christine and loved to hear her laugh.
