Mary Lucille Shay, 87, passed away December 30, 2020 at Johnson Regional medical Center. She was born March 16, 1933 to her parents, Charles Applegate, and Clara Bell Howard in Webber Falls, OK. She married her husband of 29 years, Billie Dee Shay.

She is preceded in death by her late husband, mother, father, stepfather Arthur Shay, two brothers: Charles (Skipper) and James (Jimmy) Applegate, and daughter in law Debbie Shay.
Mary is survived by her three sons, James Shay of Brenham, Texas, Wesley Shay of Lamar, AR., and Rodney (K.C.) Shay of Greenwood, AR.; one daughter Mary (Kenny) LaRue of Lamar, AR. She has twelve grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. Mary enjoyed reading books, playing cards and spending time beating her family at card games.

Open visitation will be 4:00-6:00 PM, family will greet friends and family from 6:00-8:00 PM, Thursday, January 14, 2021, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel.

We are complying with the Arkansas Department of Health guidelines and encourage all attendees to wear a mask and practice social distancing.

I am so sorry for your loss. I love you all. You are all in my prayers. I have some very fond, fun memories of her from hanging with Kenny and Cheslea after school and birthday parties for the kids! I loved her like my own grandmother and she always made me feel welcome. I will miss her arguing with Mary. LOL.
