Austin Dean Smith, 78, of Heber Springs passed away Thursday, December 31, 2020.
He was born June 26, 1942 in Batesville, Arkansas to Austin Thirl and Mildred Gearldene (Sharp) Smith.
Austin enjoyed spending time with his family, watching sporting events on TV, and discussing stocks and bonds financial investments.
Survivors include his son, Leslie Smith (wife, April) of Heber Springs; daughter, Cheryl Lewis (husband, Chuck) of Batesville; four grandchildren, Brittany Smith of Cabot, Cory Smith of Cabot, Ian Roberts (wife, Bo) of Sparks, Nevada, and Kira Cross (husband, Charlie) of Ignacio, Colorado; five great-grandchildren, Aiden Tyler Smith, Lilli Smith, Elyse Roberts, Austin Roberts, and Hunter Cross; great niece, Alice Stanley; as well as other nieces, nephews, and family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Patricia Lynn Smith; daughter, Debora Ann Roberts; and sister, Annia Dell Knatcal.
A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made in his honor to Arkansas Children's Hospital, 1 Children's Way, Little Rock, AR 72202, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 S Danny Thomas Blvd, Memphis, TN 38105, or American Cancer Society, 901 N. University Avenue, Little Rock, AR 72207.
