Carrie Dianne Ledbetter McKissack, age 51, of Clarksville, Arkansas, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 31, 2020. Dianne was born on February 13, 1969, in Natchez, Mississippi, to her mother Sharon Brown Ledbetter and her father, the late Virgil Varnell Ledbetter, Sr. She married William Anthony McKissack on October 2, 1998, in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, and recently celebrated their 22nd anniversary. Her early childhood years were spent in Natchez, Mississippi, before moving to Iuka, Mississippi, in 1978. Dianne graduated from Iuka High School in 1987 with honors and graduated from University of Mississippi in 1990 with a bachelor's degree in psychology. She received her master's degree in 1999 from the University of North Alabama. She was a servant leader with a community-oriented heart. She was a long-time member of First Baptist Clarksville, Arkansas where she served as a 5th and 6th grade Sunday School teacher. She was involved in Junior Auxiliary, Kiwanis, and Quarterback Club, all while continuing to support her children and making them her priority in everything she did. She worked as the Director of Senior Care under the corporation of Horizon Health at Johnson Regional Medical Center where she always put her patients and co-workers needs before herself. Dianne received numerous awards for her job and volunteer activities. In 2018, she was awarded the highest honor that her company gives: The President's Award. During her years where she worked with Horizon Health Corporation, she was awarded Director of the Year numerous times. Her service with Junior Auxiliary awarded her Volunteer of the Year in 2017.
She is survived by her husband Anthony, two children: Lilianne and Chandler McKissack of Clarksville, AR., her mother Sharon Brown Ledbetter and her step dad Randall Lambert, her brother Virgil Varnell Ledbetter, Jr. (Kim), Presley and Trey Ledbetter, who are her niece and nephew of Iuka, MS., her Uncle and Aunt JA and Martha Ledbetter of Yellville, AR., and their two children Amy and Jason, her cousin Lynn Smith and her nephews Austin and Alex Smith of Iuka, MS., Randall's daughters Kim Britton and Anissa Talley, and her mother-in-law Christine Fields of Lexington, Alabama.
Dianne is preceded in death by her father Virgil Varnell Ledbetter Sr., her cousin Pam (Tugar) Ledbetter Smith.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at 12:00 P.M at First Baptist Church Clarksville, AR with visitation starting at 10:00 A.M. 12:00 P.M. with Pastor Darrell Bridges officiating and also a service will be held on January 4, 2021 at 12:00 P.M. at Iuka Baptist Church Iuka, MS with visitation at 10:00 A.M 12:00 P.M. with Pastor Johnny Hancock officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Iuka, MS. Pallbearers for the Clarksville, Arkansas service will be Marty Howard, Steve Burch, Michael Banning, Don Chappell, Mark Walker, and Craig Frost. Pallbearers for the Iuka, Mississippi, service will be Kenny Carson, Phil Moore, Trey Ledbetter, Austin Smith, Lee McKissack, and Bryan Dabbs. Memorials may be made to the Junior Auxiliary of Clarksville, Arkansas.
