Helen Maxine Wyatt
Helen Maxine Wyatt passed away December 29, 2020, at the age of 93. She was born November 29, 1927 in Huff, Arkansas in Independence County to Elmer Lee Tate and Maude Alice Swaim Tate. Maxine grew up in a rural area with her mother after losing her father and two year old sister when she was age 4. Maxine attended Pleasant Plains School and graduated in 1946. She was married on January 17, 1947 for 67 years to her late husband, Crawford A. ''Joe'' Wyatt. They had one child, Dr. Kenny J. Wyatt.
After moving to Mountain View where Joe opened a pharmacy, Maxine became very active in the Ozark Folk Festival where she and her dear late friend, Nell Tapley, were in charge of the window decorating contest until age influenced them to retire. She was active in her EHC Club and Foothills Baptist Church for many years. In 2008 a scholarship was created by the Ozarka Foundation in honor of Joe and Maxine Wyatt. They were both passionate about education opening the doors to the future of young people.
Maxine is survived by her son, Dr. Kenny Wyatt and wife, Lynne of Mountain View and a host of family and friends. She will be greatly missed by many.
A small graveside service will be held at Kyler Cemetery, 1498 Kyler Road, near Batesville on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Paul Coy officiating. Masks and social distancing will be observed.

Maxine and Joe was part of my church family for many years at Foothills Baptist church. They were so wonderful and always so committed and wonderful examples for christ!! I loved Maxine and Joe very much!! She will be missed as is joe!! I know they are both in heaven!! We will meet again!!
Maxine was a classic woman with a quiet strength of character. She worked beside her husband Joe in the pharmacy for many years. Their support in many community projects including her chairing the Folk Festival window displays helped usher Mountain View into a tourist mecca. They were always there supporting and loving their son Dr. Kenny Joe and wife Lynne, who returned that unconditional love supporting them in their endeavors in the community and in their lives. Her unwavering moral example was a life lesson for us all. You were loved and admired Maxine Wyatt. You will be missed.
Condolences,
Jim and Robbie Purdom
