Kelsea Danielle Bruce

of New York, NY

August 1, 1989 - December 20, 2020

Kelsea Danielle Bruce Pesci
August 1st, 1989 - December 20th, 2020

Kelsea Bruce - beloved wife, loyal friend, adventurous world traveler, cheese lover, incredibly hard worker, and dog mom - passed away on December 20th, 2020.

Most evenings Kelsea could be found with a glass of wine in one hand and her cell phone in the other, connecting to the many people she loved. She could always be counted on to offer an encouraging word, as well as a sly remark that would provoke immediate laughter.

Kelsea's educational path in life took her from Jacksonville High School to Arkansas Tech University to New York University. Receiving her graduate degree while working two jobs, she still found time to enjoy a good cocktail with friends. Kelsea was a determined woman who knew what she wanted and sought it out with style and grace. Courageously, she left the familiar behind and created a new life in the big city. She was always destined to be on a big stage. She succeeded as a Senior Digital Director at a large PR agency, making it look easy.

Although an adopted New Yorker, Kelsea proudly stayed true to her roots and carried herself like a southern belle. The Razorbacks, sweet tea, and cheese dip were never too far from her reach. She was willing to trek miles for a well-made biscuit.

Kelsea naturally had the ability to light up any room. She will be desperately missed by her husband, Colin Pesci; parents, Bobby and Paula Bruce; sister, Sydney Bruce; and grandparents, Remmel and Shirley Bruce. Her extended family, friends, colleagues, and neighbors will never forget this lovely, accomplished woman.

A funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 am on December 28th, 2020 at the Roller-Owens Funeral Home in North Little Rock, Arkansas. Preceding the service will be a visitation hour beginning at 9:00 am. Due to restrictions and concerns of Covid-19, there will also be a live stream of the service available to viewers on the Facebook page of Sydney Bruce.

In lieu of flowers, Kelsea's family has asked that condolences may be offered in the form of donations to the 2021 Cycle for Survival; a nonprofit with 100 percent of proceeds funding groundbreaking research led by Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Kelsea has participated as a team leader for the last five years. Now, we are doing it in her name. Help give people like Kelsea, with rare cancers, a better future. For more information, please contact Sydney Bruce at 501-413-0059.

I had the pleasure of working closely with Kelsea over the past 4 years. I'm a photographer, so we got to work on many photoshoots together, from big production events to just her and I cramped up in a tiny studio. While the big productions were always fun, the memories that stand out the most now are all of our one on one time together being scrappy and innovative in that small little studio room for way too many hours. Kelsea made the most boring projects joyful and inventive, I never begrudged a day's work with her. The last time I saw her was early in the morning at Tavern on the Green, where she had come to check in on me during a shoot. On that particular day, I remember seeing her walk in through this beautiful atrium, and, though it sounds corny, I was stuck by the effortlessness of her beauty. Without a doubt, Kelsea was a gorgeous woman, but every time I saw her, it was so amazing to be reminded that her beauty wasn't the kind you could try and emulate, and it didn't follow any trends. She simply possessed beauty from the inside out and you couldn't deny it. She could wear a paper bag and no makeup and would still be the same stunning Kelsea. Her smile was infectious, and her ability to care had no bounds. It's rare to find someone like that, and I'm so grateful to have known her and to have been able to witness the beauty she was able to create in her short lifetime.

I was Kelsea’s first grade teacher at Bayou Meto Elementary. She had a smile that would light up our class each day! I am so proud to hear of her many accomplishments. Mrs. Bruce, I am still teaching and currently have those beautiful blue curtains you made hanging in my classroom with Kelsea’s handprint and all of her classmates. I will cherish those memories.
