Joe Herman England, age 87 of Marshall, Arkansas passed from this life on Wednesday, December 9th, 2020 at Highland Court in Marshall, Arkansas. He was born in Witts Springs, Arkansas on March 31st, 1933 to Willie England and Ora Drewry England.
Joe was of the Christian faith and was baptized on May 9th, 1999 by Lester Chisum and Roy Ragland. He spent his working years as a farmer. He especially enjoyed working with his horses and mules and driving his wagon behind them. He also was an avid hunter. Joe and wife, Maudie loved children and was "babysitter" to many Searcy County children who called them "Papa Joe" and "NaNa". In later years one of Joe's favorite pastimes was visiting and telling tales with his buddy's at the coffee shop.
Survivors include his children, Ron England and wife Laura of Fayetteville, Sandy Keele and husband Roy of Harrison, Melveta Henderson of Yellville, Beverly Treat of Marshall, Brenda Cassell and husband Kenny of Marshall and James "JR" Alton Ragland and wife Beth Ann of Columbia, MO; grandchildren, Kim Trammel, Kristi Myers, Rick England, Ronda England, Heath England, Clint Keele, Randall Keele, Dustin Dean, Andrew Treat, Jennifer Spurlock, Jessica Roberts, Cody Cassell, Dustin Cassell, Kelsey Joans, Katie Ragland and Emma Briggs; thirty great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; brothers, WM England and wife Melita of Marshall, Dale England and wife Jannifer of Fletcher and Coy England and wife Charlotte of Marshall; and other extended family and friends.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Ora England; his first wife, Angie Harmon England; his second wife, Maudie Ward England; grandchild, Garrett Dean; and siblings, Vernon England, Willadean England and Billie Jean Epley.
Graveside services for Joe will be 11:00 AM Monday, December 14th, 2020 at Witts Springs Cemetery with Bro. Andy Treat and Ron England officiating. Special music will be performed by Jeff Deckard. Visitation will be 10:30-11:00 AM preceding the service and will be held at the cemetery. Bearers will be Dustin Dean, Rick England, Randall Keele, Charles England, Bill England and Tucker Rodriguez. Honorary bearers will be the staff of Highland Court.

Joe was my father-in-law early in my life and have 2 of his grandchildren. I sure enjoyed Joe the time I knew him. May he be at peace!

My prayers are with the family and I am glad I knew him a few years ago he would fix lunch for Jr. Horton and making it possible to let Junior invite us as pastor and family to eat a good lunch. He was a good cook.
