Don was born July 13, 1949 in Bucyrus, Ohio to the late Aaron and Mildred (Gardner) Nordyke. He had lived in the Yellville area for the past 5 years. He was a United States Navy veteran, serving during Vietnam on the USS Keppler 765 which was the only ship hit with enemy fire during that war. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Linda Nordyke; his son Rick Nordyke; his grandson James Deen; his brothers: James Nordyke, Thomas Nordyke; and his sisters: Arlene Richards, Sara York, Patricia DeJen, and Toni Kay Nordyke.

Uncle Rick (Donald Nordyke) will be missed. I can remember him coming to our house when he was on furlough from the Navy - I have always loved the navel uniform because of him and his brothers. I can remember he was one big kid when he visited. Mom has a picture of him on a swing set at our house and that is how i will always see him. I am so sorry for your lose. I am so glad mom (Aunt Phyllis) is our there to help you for a little while.
