SFC Sammy E. Hicks, retired, 68, of Greenwood, Arkansas passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2020 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born on June 2, 1952 in Manila, Arkansas to his parents, James Hicks and Geneva (Caldwell) Smith.

Sammy was retired from the United States Army and loved working on cars.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James Hicks and Geneva (Caldwell) Smith; one sister, Mary Baker and three brothers, Terry Hicks, Mark Smith and Bill Smith.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Sang Hicks of Greenwood, Arkansas; four sons, Clifford James Hicks and wife Jennifer of Radcliff, Kentucky, Taylor Hicks of Greenwood, Arkansas, Thomas Hicks of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Henry Hicks of Greenwood, Arkansas; five sisters, Sara Collins and husband Billy of Corinth, Mississippi, Susan Schmittou of Bartlett, Tennessee, Linda Brewer of Mountain View, Arkansas, Theresa Reeves and husband Ross of Benton, Arkansas and Shirley Land and husband Jesse of Bartlett, Tennessee; four brothers, Rick Savage of Prairie Grove, Arkansas, Gary Smith of Dardanelle, Arkansas, Daniel Smith of Paducah, Kentucky and Clark Smith of Ola, Arkansas and one granddaughter, Hannah Hicks of Radcliff, Kentucky.

Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 p.m., on Sunday, December 6, 2020 at Roller Funeral Home Chapel in Paris.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Monday, December 7, 2020 at the Fort Smith National Cemetery with full military honors under the direction of Roller Funeral Home in Paris.

We are complying with the Arkansas Department of Health guidelines and limiting indoor funeral and visitation attendance to 100 people at one time. All attendees must provide and wear their own masks before entering.

So sorry for the loss of our loved one.Sammy was one of a kind, he never failed to put a smile on my face! He had a precious wife& children, I pray you all will have comfort& peace.We have loss 3 loved family members this year.They will be greatly missed!❤❤❤
