Frances Sue Crow-Dowdy

of Quitman, AR

August 8, 1938 - December 1, 2020

Frances ''Sue'' Crow- Dowdy, 82, of Quitman, AR. went to be with the Lord on December 1, 2020 at CRMC. She was born August 8, 1938 to Louis and Villah Crow in Morganton, Arkansas.

Sue was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, NH Dowdy, her parents, and her sister Thelma Marie Brown.

She is survived by: son, Bill and Kaycee Dowdy of Jacksonville, AR; brother James and Linda Crow of Vilonia, AR.; sister Rachel and David Wright of Dequeen, AR; daughter in law, Lisa Dowdy of Conway, AR.; life partner, Bob Staker of Quitman, AR.; grandchildren: Chris and Jamie Baker of Frisco, TX, Nicole and Sean Seiver of Conway, AR., Melissa and Braden Walls of Vilonia, AR, Josh and Anna Dowdy of Conway, AR.; ten great grandchildren, Jadon, Kayla, Larisa, Bruce, Noah, Austin, Taylor, Lilly, Reese, and Felix: and two great-great grandchildren, Averie and Carter; and many nieces and nephews.

Sue was an avid reader and enjoyed all books. She had a passion for sewing and was known for being a world class seamstress. Even after moving to assisted living she continued to sew Covid masks for the residents, staff, and facility. Sue enjoyed flowers and had a wonderful green thumb. As an outdoorsman, she loved traveling in the RV, and meeting new friends at the Nascar Races. Although she never learned to swim, she was an exceptional water skier. Her greatest pride and joy were her family. Sue cherished caring for her grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to spend time with them. She was nurturing, compassionate, loving, as well as a teacher and caregiver to her family and friends. She looked forward to family gatherings and would always bring her famous Peanut Butter Cake and Pumpkin Pie. Sue never met a stranger and was adored by everyone that knew her. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

A memorial service in her honor will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Clinton, Arkansas.

We are complying with the Arkansas Department of Health guidelines and limiting indoor funeral and visitation attendance to 66 percent of facility capacity at one time. All attendees must provide and wear their own masks before entering.

We are very sorry 😢 to hear that Sue has passed away, she will be missed by all of the people who knew her. She was a very good mother in-law, and a very good grandmother to all of the grandchildren and great grandchildren. We knew Sue in Arizona when her son Bill married our daughter Lisa. Sue is now resting in peace.

Aunt Sue always had a smile on her face and open arms for a big hug! Enjoyed spending time with her and uncle NH as a tot. I will never forget the summer as a teenager I spent with them in Phoenix. I will always cherish those memories. My thoughts and prayers are with Bill and family. Love you all.
