Maxine Neely, 78, of Bono, passed away Friday, November 27, 2020 at The Springs of Jonesboro. She was born October 5, 1942 in Jonesboro to Onus and Verna (Johnson) Lard. Maxine was a homemaker and a member of Unity Missionary Baptist Church. She loved reading, gardening and being with family.
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 32 years, Darrell Neely; two sons, David and Paul Neely; and one brother, Wayne Lard.
Those left behind to cherish her memory include her two sons, Kenneth (Ritchie) Neely and Dale (Amy) Neely of St. Louis, MO; two grandchildren, Nora Neely and Henry Neely; and one brother, Randy Lard.
No services are scheduled.
Arrangements are under the direction of Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home.

Dale, Lavaughn and I are so sorry to hear that your Mom passed. I remember going to Washington DC when you and Kandi were in the 8th grade I think it was History day nationals and we rode a bus from Arkansas and we played tribual pursuit and found out real fast that Maxine was very smart as she answer all the questions. They even had some wrong that Maxine told us that was wrong and she was right. I am so sorry for your loss . We all are going to miss her. Love you
