Marvin "Travis" Castleberry

of Fox, AR

July 7, 1931 - November 28, 2020

Marvin Travis Castleberry was born July 7, 1931 at Flag AR. Travis served in the United States Army from 1957-1959. After serving his country, he moved back to his farm at Flag. In 1961, he married a pretty little girl from Fox, Juanice Holland Castleberry, and started a family.
They lived on his farm in Flag until 1966, when they moved to Fox. During their life together, they had 2 children. The first, a son, died at birth.

Travis held many titles in his lifetime. Farmer, School bus driver for Timbo School District, Employee at Flint Rock Shirt factory, butcher at NuWay Foods, but his most loved titles were husband, father, and grandpa.

Travis was an active member, Deacon, and Sunday School Teacher at Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Fox. Travis had a sincere love for his Lord and Savior. One thing he knew without a shadow of a doubt was that "with God" all things are possible. He loved his church and looked upon the members as his brothers and sisters, and they completed his family.

Travis was preceded in death by his loving wife Juanice, his parents, Wayne and Clema Barnes Castleberry, and an infant son Michael Allen Castleberry.

Travis is survived by his Daughter and Son in law, Ronda and Clint West of Fox, Grandchildren, Jay and Emily Pepper, Valerie West, and Emily West; Great Grandchildren, Brennen Pepper and Ellanie Pepper, Brother in law Danny Holland and wife Jennifer and Niece Jeanette Solomon. He also leaves behind his church family and many friends and extended family.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, December 2, 2020, 2:00 PM at Fox Community Cemetery with Brother Kenny Kendrick, Daryl Pitts, and his cousin John Berry officiating.

Pallbearers are Jason Kocher, Peyton Kendrick, Kollin Kendrick, Jacob Carlton, Dwight Davis and Tony Shannon. Honorary pallbearers are Chester Sitton, Junior Harness, Burl Gammill, Don Lock, and Harold Hicks.

Roller Crouch Funeral Homes are complying with the Arkansas Department of Health guidelines. All attendees must provide and wear their own masks before entering. Please adhere to social distancing guidelines that require individuals to stand at least six feet apart.

Rhonda I hate to hear this but we know, that now, his troubles are over!
He was so quiet but (even in the chaos of a family reunion) always came by to greet you if you had not made it his way.
I thought a lot of Travis and will miss him. I know that you (and your family) will miss him more!

I worked with him at the Shirt Factory. He was a hard worker and a very nice person. I have attended church with him at Zion a few times. Ronnie my late husb (a preacher) truly loved him for him being such a good christian man. The world around here will miss him and his good deeds. I have prayers for the family and friends for comfort.

Travis was that light and example of God’s love for his brethren. His example to me was to live for the Lord and treat others the way you want to be treated. Prayers for you Rhonda and your family.

Travis taught me the meaning of being a Christian. I loved him and his family with all my heart. The miles could not separate us. July 7th and his birthday with my new Bible connected us until the end of times.

I never remember a time in my life that I didn't know Travis. Him and his mother Clema, were dear to me, and they will always be dear to me. He was a very good man, a near perfect role model for all mankind. I thank God for people like Travis, just for having known him.
Rhonda, your sweet family will remain in my prayers. Love always, Cheryl Hensley and Morene Strong
