of Conway, AR
July 16, 1940 - November 27, 2020
Edith Othelia Anthony, 80, went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 27, 2020 in Conway, Arkansas. She was born on Beckett Mountain in Mt. Vernon, Arkansas to Cletus and Marie Keathley.
Othelia was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Ann K. Brown.
She was the oldest of three children and lived life to the fullest. She loved sports; both playing and watching. Although, basketball was her favorite and she played half court ball throughout school. Othelia met the love of her life, Kenneth Anthony, during a weekly bus trip to Conway on her father's bus route. They were married 62 years and had two children; Rick Anthony and Tina Anthony Mankey. Othelia was a dedicated wife and mother who did whatever she could for her children and grandchildren. She spent most of Rick and Tina's childhood as a stay at home mom where she was dedicated to their activities. She was a PTA mom, scout leader, cheerleader for ballgames, and vacation bible school teacher.
Later in life, Othelia found a love for fashion at downtown Leflers and shared that love with her customers. She spent many weekends with her daughter and only granddaughter shopping in Little Rock and Branson. Othelia had a special heart for the elderly and volunteered with the Faulkner County Nursing Home Fund. She enjoyed going to antique and flea markets so she could add to her antique glass collections. The family beach trips brought her so much joy. She loved to eat fresh shrimp, prepare meals and snacks for her family, and spend time with her grandchildren. Lastly, Othelia had a green thumb and found great pleasure in flowers, gardening and bird watching.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Anthony, her son, Rick Anthony (Mitzi), her daughter, Tina A. Mankey (Darrell), and brother, Charles Keathley. She was ''MeMe'' to her four grandchildren, Darra Mankey Moore (Phillip), Daniel Mankey (Ashleigh), Eric Anthony (Tara) and Nathan Anthony (Shelby). She had six great grandsons, Fischer, Carson, Baker, Griffin, Levi and Lincoln and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. As she always said, ''love you mostest'' until we see you again.
Honorary pallbearers are Eric Anthony, Nathan Anthony, Daniel Mankey, Phillip Moore, Mike Langford and David Langford.
General visitation schedule will be on Monday, November 30, 2020 from 1:00pm to 9:00pm.
Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at 1:00 at Crestlawn Memorial Park.
A special thank you to her caregiver, Mrs. Melissa Hight and her staff for all the love and support throughout this time. The family would also like to thank Kindred Hospice for the medical care and attention they provided.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to oneChurch of Conway missions at www.onechurchconway.com or an organization of choice.
May God give you the peace that you so desire.
She was an amazing woman.
With Loving prayers,
Dana Jennings
Your mom was a beautiful lady, inside and out. We are so sorry for your loss... praying for you all.
Othelia was like a lighted candle in a darkened room, she always brought her light producing countenance that touched the lives of anyone who got to know her. We were neighbors in our teen years. She always wore the most disarming smile - ALL the time. We had such great respect for her family.
I am thankful that I was able to walk upon her life's path for that short time. She gave wise counsel a time or two.
May the Great God in Heaven bring comfort to her family in her earthly absence with the treasured memories of her greatness as a person and for her service and love for family and our comunity.
I knew Ms. Othelia from downtown at Lefler's. She was a beautiful woman inside and out. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family.

Tina, Rick and Mr. Anthony,
I am so sorry to hear of the loss of such a sweet and loving lady. We kept in touch through all these years in letters and an occasional run in at the grocery...oh how those hugs meant the world to me! Othelia was “there†for me when my mom passed away, and had encouraging words. And some how, always knew when I needed a letter from her!
She was SO proud of all of you, and her grand children, and loved you all dearly.
I will be praying for each of you, for peace and comfort. Hugs to you all.

Kenneth, Rick and Tina. Loved your Mom and you kids. She was a joy to be around. Loved it when all us ladies went for our walks in Brookfield in afternoons after work. We had so much fun walking, talking and trying to chew gum at the same time. Loved having you kids over. It was always so neat to look out and see all of you playing in our yard. She said the same thing about when all of your were at her house too. I know these last years have been hard on all of you but I also know she was a special Christian Lady and you all have a lot of good memories of her.
I also have good memories of her from Mt. Vernon school. She was a good basketball player. God received into his fold a wonderful LADY Friday morning. Love ya'll and Gods Blessings on you and your family

I’m so sorry for all of you in the loss of your precious wife and mother. I know you have good memories of Othelia from years past. Just know that I am praying for all of you during this hard time!
Othelia kept our children in the nursery at Second Baptist when they were tiny. She was sweet, and we loved her. We taught both of her dear children later, and then finally I only went comfortably in Lefler’s after she started working there! My Sunday School ladies sang Christmas carols to her last Christmas at her center, and now this Christmas she’ll be rejoicing with Jesus in Heaven. Love and prayers for her family left to miss her so!♥ï¸ðŸ™
To all the Family,
So sorry for your loss. Othelia was such a fine, friendly and kind person. She always had a smile and kind words when I saw her. May the Lord comfort you all.
