Ray Phelps
Francis Ray Phelps, 91, of Mountain View, Arkansas passed away on Sunday, November 22, 2020 at Baptist Medical Center East in Memphis, Tennessee. Ray was born on June 28, 1929 in Taylorville, Illinois to Francis and Lillian (Reed) Phelps. Ray worked for many years as a police officer in Lodi, California and then a truck driver after moving to Mountain View. Ray will be greatly missed by all of his loving family and friends.
Ray is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Betty Jean (Foley) Phelps; one son, Ricky Ray Phelps; step-daughter, Linda Hartle of California; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of extended family and friends.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Lillian (Reed) Phelps; brother, Don Phelps; sister, Evelyn ''Mamie'' Peden, and step-brother, Clarence W. ''Clancy'' Reed: step-son, Lynn Root: great-grandson, Alex Harbut.
Ray will be cremated and there will be no services at this time.
Roller Crouch Funeral Home in Mountain View, Arkansas is in charge of the arrangements.

Ray was a great K-9 officer. Rommel and Ray were a great combination and a joy to work with. my prayer are with his family.
